Hello Valeriy, hope you are okay.

Was this winch European?

Thanks Bruce, I'm fine! :)
Yes, most likely it is a European production. I see such winches in photographs and models of British-built ships of the late 19th century and early 20th century.

Hi Valeriy

The Hyde Windlass Co is an old American manufacturer of marine deck winches.

If you Google “Steam Cargo Deck Winch” you will find a copy of one of their old catalogs.  There is a detailed drawing of one of their winches.

Hello Roger!

Unfortunately, my google doesn't find the page I'm looking for. If it's not difficult for you, then give me a direct link to this page.

Thank you! This seems to be exactly what I need. I won’t be able to pay, but you can try to consider at least the name of the drawing. Please provide a direct link to the page.
