Buy Boat by Mike Collier - Wye River Models

Recommended Posts

Started a Buyboat from Wye River Models today. Unpack kit, started to trace the bulkheads and cut out middle bulkhead. Trimmed keel, cut out stem brace and started to assemble. Glue keelson together , added brace for bulkhead, glued stern to keelson and added support blocks.

A buyboat would go out on Chesapeake Bay to oyster boats during the season and buy the oysters and take them to market so the oysters boats could stay out and work. Doing the off season ship product up and down the bay , like watermelons to market, carrying supplies to some of the islands.
