I’ve rejoined after a long absence.  Originally joined after making the basic newbie mistake of buying a nice looking kit in a model shop (long since gone).  In my case a Constructo HMS Pandora.  Fortunately a copy of Anatomy of the ship Pandora and a lot of after market extras resulted in a nice looking model that was more accurate than the kit.  I followed this with a fishing boat Saint Malo and then started on HM Brig Supply, got into difficulty with the stern of this one and put it aside whilst distracted by a model railway and a few radio controlled tanks.

October last year I got Supply out again, removed a lot of the original planking, found the receipt for the kit in the bottom of the box, dated 2013 and got on with it!

Being retired now I have more time and have reached the masting  stage.  This one is easier to build than Pandora but the instructions are a bit sparse for something aimed at a beginner.  Fortunately a few suitable reference books have joined the home library and this one will contain less errors.

One thing I have noticed when looking at build logs is that Supply looks very different depending on whose kit you buy.  I have the JoTika 1/64 model and have added two stern windows, one either side of where the rudder post runs through the stern, couldn’t see why anyone would put a window behind the rudder post, I also added chains to the rudder, blocks and hooks to the cat heads and have made a binnacle as there must have been some sort of compass housing in order to keep the ship on course.  One thing I haven’t seen on any model is a chimney for the stove, not even sure where this would be located on a small vessel like this.  Any ideas anyone ?
