Hallo ihr Lieben,
während ich noch auf die Segel für die San Martin warte, mache ich mit der Beplankung weiter.
Das Lindenholz lässt sich zwar super bearbeiten, zieht aber leider im bedampften Bereich nach dem Trocknen stark ein. Hier muss ich wohl mal richtig zur Kelle greifen.
Ich muss auch feststellen, dass der Funke zwischen uns beiden nicht so recht überspringen will. Bei den letzten Bauten war mein Herz irgendwie mehr dabei. Das ist also ein Paradebeispiel für die Modellwahl. Erstens wollte ich keinen so hohen Maßstab mehr und schon gar kein so riesiges Schiffsteil. Einzig der Schnäppchenpreis war ausschlaggebend für den Kauf.
Aber wie die Admiralität jeden Tag so schön sagt: „Das habt ihr ja gewollt.“
Also ziehen wir es durch, komme was wolle. Der Funke kommt vielleicht noch, ich bin erst am Anfang.

Hello everyone,
The first planking is finished, apart from a few minor details.
These fiberboards are quite easy to work with. Unfortunately, they don't have the density of real wood. I've often thought about using real wood.
Unfortunately, the nails don't hold properly, which could be detrimental to the subsequent planking.

The initial adjustment of the half-guns looks good. The bulkheads still need to be removed where they protrude longer. In the center of the hull, you can see the simple tool for aligning the hole.

As usual, everything was done with a scalpel and file.

Contrary to the instructions, I have already attached the substructure of the transom. According to the plans and photos I found, the side panels are flush with the hull planking. Logically, however, this is no longer possible after the second planking. In the few existing construction logs, this was then compensated for by adding a side molding, which, however, loses the rounded hull shape. I hope I can do without this bar.
