Hello,

These are the first steps of my HM Cutter Sherbourne build. The kit looks fantastic in the box: lots of detail and high-quality parts.

So far, the hull skeleton went together perfectly – everything fits like a glove.

This is my first wooden sailing ship model.  I don't have a lot of time for modelling these times, but but I’ll try to post regular

updates—even small ones. I expect the hull planking and the rigging will be the trickest steps for me.

Wish me luck – and feel free to share any tips or advice! I’ll definitely appreciate it. 😊

I've pre-bevelled the bulkheads and glued the first parts in place. I’ll share some photos once this stage is complete. Thanks for all the encouraging comments!

Good luck on your project! I built Chris' first iteration of Sherbourne, which he designed for Caldercraft many moons ago. The new design is much more beginner-friendly.

Actually this VM model reminds me a lot of the new generation of paper model sailing ships (like Seahorse, Shipyard or WAK ones), except it's made of wood and MDF. Caldercraft is more like classic wooden kits.

Kovalus, the Vanguard Sherbourne is a great model. I'm currently starting on the rigging on my own build. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I am following your build log. Good luck with the rigging!

Good luck, you seem to have made a good start.

Thanks, your HM Cutter Alert is very inspiring. I also painted some WH40k figures :D
