Good evening, 

 

My name is Dale, I'm a recent retiree and I'm looking forward to getting back into ship modelling and a couple of other hobbies.

 

I joined MSW and NRG a month or two ago and have been doing a lot of reading. I'm hoping that I can improve to get even 50% as good as some of the practitioners on this site! 

 

Originally from Yorkshire in the UK, I've been in the marine field since leaving school, have been in Florida for the past 40 years, and will be making the move to Cadiz in Spain before the end of this year. Consequently, I'm very limited as to what I can build until the move is complete. However, I've been "stocking up" so I can hit the floor running when I get to the new house. First up will be the NRG planking and rigging kits followed by a "couple" of kits by Model Shipways and others.....

 

Anyway, I'm looking forward to making some sawdust and participating in this group as soon as possible!

Welcome! The NRG Half-Hull is a great kit for learning planking, although definitely a bit challenging. I'd highly recommend checking out build logs, if you haven't.
