Hi, everybody! It's nice to meet such a big community.

I have been attracted to sailing ships since a very long time, something that probably started when I found a set of pictures of some old ship models having a lot of details. Because of it, while reading Moby Dick as a kid, I was mostly interested in how the sailors were handling the ship and not so much by the story itself.

Later on, I found that there is an entire world of model ship building and I imagined it's something that I would like to do, but I postponed it many times, mostly due to lack of time.

Well, I finally decided to make the time and give it a try. I'm aware that I might discover that I don't actually like it so much, yet I think there is only one way to find out :D

I bought the 3-kit beginner's set of Model Shipways, planning to start with the basics and see how I can develop the building skills.

Welcome, you will find all the help and information you will want and need on this site, if you don't just put a question out there and people will answer.  Others build logs will be of great value and fill in all the holes in the instructions, better yet with pictures of the build.  I started with something more complex than the Model Shipways trio but stopped and built those 3.  I have never regrated that.
