Now I want to continue working. I do not like the old decor. Now I have learned to do a lot better. I started to model head figure. This is the Roman goddess Juno (the first name of the vessel). This is only a sketch, without detailing.

Probably every modeller wants to build a model in the Navy Board style. In 2004 I started to model the American privateer Oliver Cromwell in 1/48 ( original built in 1776). Model is built on drawing from Harold Hahn's book "Ships of the American Revolution and their models". The model is not completed at this time.

A small progress: keelson formed by three parts, with ebony nails.

Inspired by Johann's longboat for La Créole (archjofo) I'm trying to build this one for Le François.
These are the first steps. There's a long way to go.

Ever wondered what the inside of an antique ship model looks like? The museum's Rogers Ship Model Collection includes some examples of stunning craftsmanship on the interiors as well as the exteriors. These photographs were taken with the aid of a modern surgical arthroscope. Instead of using it to look inside people’s knees, we use it to look inside our ‘dockyard’ ship models. In this instance we were examining Model No. 54, a model of an unidentified British 70-gun ship; both the ship and this model were built in . England in the mid 1720s. Here we inserted the scope through the rear double doors of the Great Cabin at the stern and looked forward. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.396021497081817.112946.137100856307217&type=3

igorcap reacted to Mike Y in Beavers Prize 1777 by Mike Y - 1:48 - POF - Hahn style
Finished fairing the exterior of the hull:
No finish applied yet.
First time I show the hidden side of it
It is the port side, it would be fully planked and fully hidden - hence no iron bolts, very rough fairing and less attention to the frame alignment - ended up adding strips of wood to patch the low spots.
Now need to make a frame to support the hull in an inverted position (keel down), to be able to comfortably work with the internals of the hull. Internal fairing would be fun!
