Hello Robbyn Here is a tip to measure the diameter of the rope. Wrap the rope 10 times to get a screwdriver and share this by 10 and you have the correct diameter.

Robbyn, I tried to drill small holes, the material of the KIT is very soft and you can drill very carefully the holes in the crow's nest. Then I glued the eyes with CA glue so they no longer turn. I have made the crowns nest of wood therefore I had the original not used. I hope you can use it.

Yes it is my build, the ship is not finished yet. I am rigging the ship right now. There is no build log of this ship on MSW, I have already 2 build logs on 2 dutch forums. The reason that I have not build log on this forum that my English is very poor.   Maybe you have something to build my report in the Netherlands. Here are a lot of photo's of my San Francisco 2, I'm a little further with the construction of the ship and maybe you can still use tips. http://www.modelbouw...aal-1-90-a.html

Hello Robbyn, I've done it this way. I placed the wood for 2 hours in hot water, then I bent the wood on the table. see picture. then heat up the soldering iron. After everything is dry you can fit it on the ship. It has worked well with me, you must only slowly bending the wood or else it breaks.

Hello Robbyn. You make great progress already with the ship Maybe you have something to build my report in the Netherlands. Here are a lot of photo's of my San Francisco 2, I'm a little further with the construction of the ship and maybe you can still use tips. I also have many building reports viewed on this forum but are unfortunately all gone. http://www.modelbouwforum.nl/forums/historische-zeilschepen/176353-bouwverslag-san-francisco-2-van-artesania-schaal-1-90-a.html Robert

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
