Thanks Frank glad to have you along for the ride.

Great work, very impressive details on this kit.

Thanks guys, I also used the cherry stain on the stem, stern post and keel to get some contrast with the bulwarks.

I like the fact that you are using so many different kinds of wood to make up for not using any paint, looks really good so far.
-
Thanks Curtis, your Virginia looks good to.
-
Thanks Alistair, I don't have a problem with the contrast, but I also like a painted hull, I think I will change my mind at least a few more times on weather I leave it natural or paint it, lol.

Thanks David, the bottom 2 planks on both sides have been tapered they are about 30% smaller than the full planks, hard to tell in the pics, thanks Russ I may indeed like the contrast no need to decide now still plenty to do.

Your cannons look great, and I really like the weathered deck.

Way past time for an update. I planked the outer bulwarks and got a good start on the lower planks. the reason it took so long is a few of the planks shifted position and I didn't notice till they were dry so off they came.
As you can see from the pic one of the lower planks has a big difference in color, I think I will either live with the color or paint the lower hull. All comments welcome.

Always fun to watch you scratch builders work, nice build.

I think your build is amazing, as long as you enjoy building it that's what counts the most.

Time for nan update.
The first pic shows the waterways, rubbing strakes and haws installed.
Second and third pics show the stock cannon and lower carriage, last pick shows the modified cannon, on the cannon I replaced the breaching ring as the kit one looking to thick and long to me, the new one was soldered on as well as the hinge, I also added the screw jack for elevation rather than use the stock wedge the kit came with.
The lower gun carriage was made from a piece of walnut from the scrap pile and I added the eye bolts, I still need to add wheels to the lower carriage. All comments welcome.
