  1. I suppose you don’t want to try carving them yourself. These task that seem so difficult usually end up very doable if you know what you are making
  2. Having trouble figering out what these set of blocks are for. If anyone can figuer it out let me know.
  3. I try to prepaint every thing before i install as a rule. Its simple to hard to paint parts on the model. This of course requires a bit of planning. Having said that it is almost impossible to do this with all parts. Masking as you have done will help. I use acrylic paint so it is easy to undo a smudge when i make a mistake. I think your model is coming out just fine.
  4. This is one of my very early videos that you may find useful on the topic.
  5. These are some real life shots of how they are installed on a real ship
  6. Hi Neil there are lots of great videos on YouTube and Vimeo than can guide you on how to start the build log. I even find myself going back to some of my videos asking “How did i do that again” the learning curve is so steep and the experimentation so diverse that sometimes i forget the finial solution. Good luck to you sir kevin
  7. Hi Gary since there is no known confirmed plan of the boat there is no way of knowing the size of the deck planks. Having said that they do look a bit over size. In terms of your approach to planking i found it much easier to plank the entire deck except the cockpit placing the various fieces of deck furniture on top of the deck. This allows for a clean line bewteen the deck and the deck furniture. The only area where this was not possible was at the cockpit . i had to instally a moulding to get a clean transition between the external wall of the cockpit and the deck. She looks beautiful and you should be very proud.
