So after a while, little more than a month I am back at the table.
In conjuction with downsizing of the house, (2700sq.ft and 4 bedrooms were to much for the Admiral and me) and a recent move I lost the stand intended for the Longboat.
    But it doesn't matter.
I have a stand now, and using 1/16" brass rod to lift the longboat.
They are not put together yet.
However, I think this looks fairly good.
Question, should I leave the base untouched or should I varnish it?

here are the to lower parts of the decoration rails in their final form.

    Portside

    Starbord

At the big Utrecht these parts are mirror-like. But I think that I will have to carve many times until I can make two of this parts wich are realy equal.

Now the adventure ( carving ) begins.  My first trial the portside part of the Sterns decoration.

To protect my fingers I have glued the wood on a piece of balsa by double face tape.

    Cheerio!

    Hi Mates,

Next part to make was the rail above the counter. Productionsteps: cut out by saw, profiling by a millingmachine and finishing by files and carving tools

The complete rail. The little pedestals at portside and starboard will be the bases for the decoration elements of the stern.

    First painting of the rail.

@Patrick It depends on whether I find a suitable tool. Otherwise I make my own scrapers.

I have used this tool to make the profile rails.

The mainrail is 2mm. For this job I have made a scraper by myself.

This day I have finished the bullwark on maindeck.

Frist I had some problems to make the bricks. I tryed to model they from wood, but that looks like firewood for the fireplace. At last I remembered a forgotten box with restovers from railway modelling long time ago. And in it I found three varietys of brickwall paper. Exactly what I was looking for.

And this is the coloured fireplace. I did use Oxid of Chromium (green) Raw Sienna and Van Dyk Brown. As a friend of mine ( his is an restorer himself) says are this colours which are used for such decorations in the baroque.

@aviaamator: the right diameter should be 1,5277 mm. First I have made the handle from 1,6mm brass. But that doesn't look good to my eyes, therefore I have made it from 2mm

We had a wonderfull Christmas Evening and Christmas Day with our children and six grandchildren. And so its good to grandfather to relax some times in the dockyard before the next celebration will start in the evening.

Now some pictures from modelling the fireplace.

Tomorrow I will look for the right colour. It will be a specuial green.

    Best regards Hartmut

Aproblem to me: the curtains of the alcove. Fortunately my Admiral is a very good tailor herself. Therefore it was no problem to her to make the curtains from light green silk. To install they it into the alcoves was my job. No,to work with textil isn't a pleasure to me.

The next problem. There was no red velvet for the matresses in the workshops store. But my Admiral recommeded to take the dark blue. And, so she said, it is of good quality.

Under the LED Light in my dockyard the colours looks absolute terrible, I think.

To bring in the curtains of the alcove was an very special job to do. My Admiral did cut and iron the parts. But to work with textile isn't a job to me. The Curtains on starbord.

Next I have made the lower part of cabins cupboard.
