    Hey Cristi best of luck have only really had problems with mamoli and to be fair maybe it was just that kit and i was unlucky; but i'm in Australia and SOS costs over 2 grand here so you can understand my interest. anyway have fun will be watching with interest cheers Vossy

    Hey cristkc am looking closely at this model for a future build can you let the group know of the wood quality and quantity please. have built Amati Santa Maria (great quality wood and reasonable amount) Mamoli Golden Hind (very poor quality wood and not enough, just as well below the waterline is painted so can cheat with other timbers. also poor quality fittings and badly misshaped parts) half way through Corel Victory (great quality throughout) would love an appraisal before forking out the considerable sum this model costs. would not touch another Mamoli kit cheers Vossy

    don't worry about removing the patina. it can be bought at most specailist paint or craft shops (at least in australia). i use it a fair bit in my job. vossy

    Hi all a question for the group. should i lay the second planking in one length or break it up like the decking to represent scale?

    sorry its the decorative part on the outside of the hull. i believe in earlier kits it was silk screen but they now have changed to card

    Hey there i'm currently building Mamoli Golden Hind and am up to glueing the card decorations onto the hull. is it better to dilute the glue acrylic. not sure with card have never seen them before. in fact had i known this kit came with card would probably not have bought it. but you live and learn and so far it looks good. any suggestions welcome and appreciated. cheers will post pics of build shortly and my first build Amati Santa Maria. also whilst i'm on a roll i served on HMAS Torrens in the RAN does anyone know of any models of her on the market in any incarnation, i.e., wood, plastic etc. or of any River class DE. cheers Vossy the football god!
