    This project represents the exposition consisting of three models of a bronze 24-pound gun of Le Fleuron 1729, M 1:24.  Idea of the project - to show model options in development - from gun model to battle station:
    -  The gun located on a fragment of the deck (No. 1);

    - The gun located on a fragment of the deck with a board and some artillery accessories (No. 2);

    - Battle station including a gun with roofing felts and accessories to firing, fragments of two decks, a board fragment with gun port and a cover (No. 3).

    and also I constructed new model of the gun (No. 1) located on a fragment of the deck.

    Each of models is established on own support, in an exposition of model are united by the general stand.

    -I added the electrified lamp.

    The lamp is made according to obtained at French on the Arsenal drawings (see poses.  2 on the drawing) that on the scale of M 1:24 gives diameter of cylindrical part of a lamp of 8 mm and height of 11 mm.  As a prototype the similar lamp of production of the French modeller of Alain Fosse served.

    The case and cover of a lamp are made of a brass bar, an insert with an opening under a light-emitting diode - from yellow plexiglas, food elements (2 AAA batteries) are established under a deck flooring, contacts for connection of a lamp are inserted into a seam between levels of a deck flooring.

    Today I made the fore course, the fore topsail and the main topsail. All that's left is the mizzen topsail, the main topgallant and the fore topgallant then the various stay sails and the jibs.

    This is the start of the hull planking. The wood I'm using is African Sepili hardwood that I cut from larger stock on my little home made table saw. Not the greatest wood to model with but it was actually scrap wood left over from the company I worked for that made made luxury vessels that ran about 25 million each. The price was right (free) so I'm taking advantage till I run out.

    I made the cannons and the stand for the bottle. I also scratched the paint off the deck leaving lines simulating planks as well as creating some contrast from all the black. The stand for the bottle is made from some old worm eaten wood.

    I have started on the details such as the capstan and the hatches. the capstan slides up and down the mast covering the Hinkley hinge when in the down position but allowing the mast to fold when in the up position.

    I made the wales and the cap rails then I put on the first coat of paint. I also took a closeup of one of the mast hinges.

    I got a call from a relative who wants me to make them a ship in a bottle, they were not specific on what they wanted they just said a pirate ship. I thought abought it and realized that real pirate ships are not that recognizable as "pirate ships" so I decided on the Black Pearl from Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean.
       I found some plans on the web and immediately started on the model. The hull is made in three pieces from balsa, the upper works are made in four pieces also balsa, the decks are made from thin plywood and the mast are bamboo skewers.

    Today I made the main and fore topmast, I also made the main course. the tops make it a tight squeeze to get it in the bottle but it still fits.

    Row I am already ahead of you there.

    Before the crash of MSW 1.0 I had been documenting the build from the keel up and after I did not rebuild the log but just picked up where I had got too. I do have however hundreds of photographs of the entire build from the very begining.

    this picture shows the curved brass tube to carry the steering wire to the tiller.

    the first decking was white pine and the wires were set before the first planking was finished

    the wire was to have a stop fixed so that it would move back and forth tracking beneath the cockpit

    eventually I covered the first layer of planking with a layer of clear fir because I did not like the way the first layer looked plus there was the issue of the cover board and learning about the construction of the full sized practice as I was moving along.

    after the fir was scraped and given a rub down with steel wool the steel exit holes are virtually invisible but they are still there as marked by the red circle in this picture.

    Now this is a possibility that I am considering very seriously, and that is to not put any kind of radio in her at all but to sail it with the rigging set and cleated as if she was a classic pond yacht. the reason being, that the build is more important than the sailing of this model, My sailing will happen in Maria. the boat is set so that if I wanted to add the radio and other gear later I could do it.

    I would rather spend my time though building the next boat than sailing a model, as long as I know it will sail that is all that matters at this point, so it will get to the water and it will be documented for sure.

    And to answer you question about glue , I am using lepages carpenters glue and the cap will be varnished or oiled when finished.

    I made the beakhead railing, figurehead and the stern lanterns. The figurehead is made from two card cutouts glued together in a V shape with the open end of the V around the stem, the railings are strips of card shaped then soaked in CA to harden them and the stern lanterns are made from bamboo skewers and are placed lower than they should be, so they wont block the piece from fitting through the neck of the bottle.
