just a bit too futuristic for me....if it was a plastic kit,  that would be one thing.   I did 'Keaton's'  batmobile........pretty bland being a black car with fins

how about depth charges Bob..........would that be worth it

Nice to see the hammocks finished Harvey - they look great. Re the ship's boats - you could always scratch build them as I did........

    Hi
Finally the hammocks are done.About time only taken a week

Trying to decide what to do next I should start looking at the ships boats, been looking at the set of 6 wooden boats from cornwall model boats but can't find much info on them and at £68.00 don't want to take a chance.

I know what your saying Greg........I'm finding it odd not to think of the next thing to do to her.  it's funny like that........you build a kit...and yea,  you have fun doing it.  you plan.......and think.......and think some more.......soon to be done.....it's a nice looking build.   I can't describe how fluid this build was....the only thing I really really had to worry about,  was staying in scale.  I hope I did that well........I think I did    I do have a few other builds in mind.......there's the S.S. Olive Oyl,   the Orca {from Jaws},  and the Bat Boat.  {I added it Patrick,   it's official }         you just never know what will land on my table

thank you Sjors.........your enthusiasm knocked me clean out of my chair!   glad you liked the end result

thanks Greg.......kinda reminds me of the old 'outer limits' TV show intro.   depending on the subject,  one can go stark raving mad with adding detail and stuff.   I know I could have gone further with this subject,  but this is a good place to end off.   she's not too plain Jane,  and not over laiden with detail.....she's just right.......balanced.   it's the same way I feel as I look at her.......and still amazed with how she came out.

    Hi
On a roll this weekend finishing jobs I have been putting off.
I have finally finished the flag lockers, Thank again to captain steve for the advice he gave me back in october about tissue paper.
It looks batter on the ship than in the picture.

I think there is enough flags what do you think?

    Hi
Thank you for all of your very nice comments and likes a bit of encouragement goes a long way thank you again.

The deck fittings and bowsprit had to wait because I forgot about the netting, after cutting up one of my daughter’s dresses for the net I started.

First I used some clear glue to fix the netting in place then fine cotton to tie the netting then I coiled rope around the top of the netting to make it more secure.

Still 50/50 about whether it looks right also I was torn between black and white netting

    Hi Dragzz
Just been looking at your build so far, doing a great job keep up the good work.

There is one thing that I feel I should ask about and that is the sweep of the deck at the forecastle in the pictures it looks like it has too much making the deck to high.
Not sure if the part numbers are the same as I have much older plans but does the part number 66 pressed wood fit at the breakhead bulkhead.
    Sorry if I am wrong.

    Greeting all
Well here we go with another build. There was quite a few ships that I would love to build but frightened me off including the SOS and the San Felipe. So hopefully I can cope with the DIana which should keep me happy for a couple of years. I like others will replace the tanganijka strip with maple when I find how many strips are needed, as the supplied looks horrid. I will also need to purchase some decent dowel, as some of the supplied would come back if you threw it away. There are also a few castings that are not useable, so I shall just order them when I purchase the maple strip. One thing that did surprise me was no cannon balls are supplied, which one would have thought would be needed on the ship, after all it has cannons. I have made a start on the build as you can see, and all the bulkheads have been faired, but will obviously need some attention during the planking. You can see the planking on deck (18) which is the supplied timber, and is gladly unseen. So wish me lots of luck chaps , and off I go with my build, and please post loads of photos, I will definitely need them. Here's a few of mine. DAVID

    Greetings all
Thanks a lot for your replies. Well I have made no progress apart from fitting the gun deck, as I have been waiting for the delivery of my 1mm maple strip from CMB which arrived today. The quality of the wider strips ( 5.6.7mm) is pretty good. But the the narrow strips 3mm and 4mm are very poor, which I had been advised. I have added photos of various strips were you can see the poor quality of the 3mm and 4mm, especially when you compare it to the mantua 3mm white maple. Anyway that's what I have got to work with so wish me luck. DAVID

    Ok tiles so far
This is the state of the tiling along the waterline so far.
I may or may not add a finish strip but i will wait until both sides of the ship are completely tiled before i make my mind up.
    Anyway,so far i have this,,,,

As usual the waterline will need a tidy up but so far it looks a hell of a lot better than i thought it would for a first timer effort.

ok thanks for looking and back soon guys.
