donrobinson got a reaction from mrshanks in Trabakul by donrobinson - FINISHED - MarisStella - 1:32 scale
Thanks Dave. My arms are getting a workout now with the upper shrouds and tieing them off, good part is they don't have ratlines!

Your rigging is very impressive. You are a very brave man with that dremel, good call on the bumpkins. Nice work

Lawrence: Thanks, I was a little apprehensive about installing them as, unlike you, I don't have a wonderful Admiral who could sew them. The ones in the kit are almost completely done so I think I can get away with using some of that iron on sewing tape. At least that's the plan
Darrell: Thanks, great of you to stop by

Thanks so much Elijah for all the likes and your great comment. I have decided to do the sails, they are supplied pretty much all sewn so I'm hoping not to have too many problems with them.

Thanks Dave. I was hoping you would say that, as that is what I use also and have had no problems yet.

The chain plates look good Dave. Do you use silver solder?

Hello all, first up Thanks for all your visits, likes and gracious comments. Trabakul now has a new home on the dining room table as rigging has started and there is less chance of her getting hurt and even a less of a chance of me using the table to entertain.
Bowsprit was first, this the little fitting made to hold it in place
The little supports on either side and a strap with rings( I used eyebolts)
Chain installed
Lower shrouds completed
Next up is the upper shrouds and then ratlines.
Enjoy and Take care

Thanks guys, updates coming soon. Deck planking is complete and hatches are next up on the menu. In the meantime help yourself to the refreshment fridge, it is fully stocked

Thanks Paul, I agree with you about the planking I prefer the dark colours versus the light also. From what I have read here at MSW the light coloured decks are more historically correct and that is what everyone is trying to portray. If you want, though, I'll follow along with you and do dark coloured decks even though it may jeopardise our membership here .
As for the bulkheads again it was probably a waste of time as I am sure not many of them will be seen through the hatches but I started painting a few and just kept going. I even went so far as to give them a coat of poly. I think what it all amounts to is me stalling before all the hard stuff starts to come.
