Which kit to build first? I have just ordered 2 kits at the same time and don't know which one to do. They are both Mantua, Astrolabe @1:50 scale and the other is Le Couronne @ 1:75 scale. Has any one built any of these, what do I need to know. Thank Ya'll

Nice jig, looks even better than one can buy, I will make one too. I am excited to get mine this week 2/9/14. I will follow your build .received our tax's back so I bought 2 models, beside this one I bought Astrolabe and the wife doesn't know. your work looks very well done here.

Can you tell me where this kits from (Artesania Latina)? Please I am thinking about buying one from. It is a large kit and quite costly 52.36 " x 31.79" x Beam of 18.30" @1/48 scale

I am looking for pictures of a main mast that shows what all goes and the placement including the "crows nest". I've searched the topics here and could not find any. What I'm going to attempt is, a "model" of a mast rigged really shows the rigging blocks and dead eyes. I will try to have a different build log. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Very nice, hats off to you, I am working on the same project. I am going to post a sander that can be fabricated very easily in the proper place modeling tools. -
I posted early but I have started on some of the Keel, False Keel, and Keelson, I'm trying to use a couple of different woods. Maybe when I have enough done I'll post it.

WOW! Thank you for the response. I looks like I will use Cherry for most of my build and even try Birch. (bought a piece 1/4" x5' x 5' for about $15.00) not to bad. Again thank Ya'll.

I have am looking to see a Timber List for the Full build? I'm pretty sure someone knows what wood that is needed for this. Can some one help me please

I just bought a pew pieces of Wenge at our exotic woods store and the owner told me that it is easy to make this type of wood look almost as black ebony, not only that but it is a very dark king of wood and over time it wood turn even darker look at some Rosewoods, and sinker cypruss wood. I have posted our stores web site. It is listed in the wood selection on pg. 3

I am trying to figure what kind of wood I should use in the side planks and framing. I have thought about Cherry at 1/4". Can I have some feed back as it will help me decide. Thank y'all.

I have also recently purchased this wonder book. I'm really new at this so I'm going to jump right in head first. When I get a better puter with a cam I'll show what I've done. When the book came in and the wife saw the price it was i thought she'd kill me for buying it. When I get some more spending money i'll hoping to buy a few more. Hats off to Gilbert McArdle for such a wonderful addition to all our libraries.

Hey ya'll, I had the plans for the Triton from the lost cite and was wondering were I can get the plans again because I aslo had a hard drive crash and lost the back up discs for the pc. Now I have to buy a new set up. Will they be posted here again, or where can I get them?

When starting a new P.O.F. build, how is it determined what the width and depth of the frame is? Does it change when going toward the front or rear?
