    Admiral Sjors.........love it
Yes, I have returned to building those confounded ships again.......oh wait, thats the theme of this here Forum.
Anyway, sold our house, down sized to a apartment until we retire to the coast of NC.......7 more years it looks like.
So space is @ a premium, and boy have you built a monster, but it sure is pretty, but not as much as Anja..........   hello Anja.
Anyway, I do have a little build log going right now........a Shipyard Santa Maria, a 1/72 scale all laser cut card kit.  So look me up and if you have any advice to give your poor lowly seaman, by all means do so my friend.

Cody, so very sorry for not answering back, I have been away for awhile.........for your info, you will see this project start up again very soon.
I went thru a move and it has been packed away, but is now out and waiting for me to decide how I want to power this baby up.  I will say this, alot of people have asked me my thoughts on this kit as a RC model, I believe with the right set up, power and drive system, you could have a show stopper @ the local pond.  Just my 2 cents worth.  By the way, Cody are you working on anything RC Boat related.

As you can see, I have already removed the laser cut frame work f/hull from sheets.  This kit did not come with the glue the 1st did, however I still have 2 tubes of the glue left that came with the Lugger and I also have discovered what I believe to be one of the best CA glues I have ever used in card modeling from GPM.com......uni-flex klej cyjanoakrylowy.......short f/CA!  This stuff is just outstanding, does not soak thru the card and when dry, is even flexible with no after effects, ie: white powder from the CA curing out.  I love this stuff and use it in all my modeling now, that a CA is called for or needed.  The other glue is a type of contact and stinks to boot, funny, it is used to re-sole boots.....made a funny  .
So there it is, I have seen this kit done up and it builds into a very detailed rep of the Santa Maria, however, I will build just a tad different than comes in the kit.  We will get into that shortly about the research side of the project.  So for now, happy modeling, don't glue your fingers to the table and watch the pointy end of the knife.

Doris has put her builds here on MSW.  An exquisite modeler.  Her ships are beyond works of art.

I wanted a challenge for my Santa Maria so I used the AL kit (which is an introductory level kit) and bashed it based on the Anatomy series by Xavier Pastor "The ships of Christopher Columbus", so it came out, as Jean-Pierre suggests, as a round tuck stern. I used the kit as a material source as I'm a kitchen-table modeller.

As I only know AL kits I can't judge the comparative quality but I couldn't fault the timber or small parts but the cannons supplied were not the lombards they are supposed to be.

I have built several Bluejacket kits, and the last, the 4 Piper 310' Destroyer was the last one I did and I know just how much goes into one of these.  You are doing a fine job sir and I look forward to more.  I now see that they have revamped the Destroyer kit, that was a monster to build........pretty much done me in on solid hull kits.  Keep up the precise work, and any parts that you can have cast in resin, I would do all I could, alot easier to work and detail.
