Hi John
You two are not the only ones working (or planning) on planes.............
I have collected good drawings for more than 200(!) aeroplanes from pre WW1 to modern, just thinking which one i should do
Great job done on your Fokker!

There are many more volumes, including lithographs, of the work by Kameke (1837) that can be downloaded from Google and/or archive.org.

Hi druxey
I just "fell" over it by searching for marks of prussian cannons, did not find them but the green albums..............
More about the prussian guns is to be found in the files called "Kameke". Feel ALL free to save the albums and the other files on your PC! That are the things that should be saved by so many as possible!
Best regards

I`ve saved them all, and placed at my dropbox, with some more original stuff about historic artillery. Whoever wants it, please send PM.

By searching this forum I found out, that there has no one posted this. Mendel L. Peterson has listed and photographed historic cannons from several countries, high interesting for anyone who wants to build his warship guns correctly.
The files are too big to set them herein, just type
"Mendel L. Peterson Large green Album" in your browser, the four PDFs are the ones I mean

Hi hobbydoor
That would be great, so we could have the full set of the green albums! I`ve missed them as I downloaded the parts I have, but there were no link to find for them. Naturally I would be interested in the marks of Austria and Germany, but all the other volumes too!

Gerhard,
Wunderbar! Downloaded, many thanks. I have been looking for 'the rules' about the size and position of regal emblems/monograms on English cannons and all arrows point to Peterson. If it is in there I will post the results.
I believe the files were originally hosted and available for downloading by a website promoting tourism and diving in Bermuda. I have contacted them and do not believe they plan to put them back online: they politely offered to sell me a hard copy (vol 1) from their tourist centre bookshop.
Now to get comfortable and view a thousand pages …
Regards,
Bruce

Gerhardvienna got a reaction from GrandpaPhil in SMS Danzig 1851 by Gerhardvienna - 1:50 scale - RADIO
As we go on with the review, here come the next few parts
First the eyelets on the bottom of the lower carriages, they are simple soldered brass parts.
Also the front wheels had to be made. The wheels are turned from 4mm brass rod, they measure 3,8mm diameter, and width of 3mm, the axels are 0,8 x 0,8 mm.
Uper carriage prepared for wheel mounting, the upper holes are drilled a bit larger. This is necessary to set the holder plates at a correct angle.
Mounting setn for one side wheel mount: 2 holders, 2 screws & nuts M0,6, 1 roller. The small brass tube was used as a wrench. The tube was slightly flattened, then I use a really small amount of silicone for sanitary use inside the tube, and fixed the hexnut into it. This holds the nut as long as it is needed, and releases it when all is fixed.
Right side done.
Both front whhels mounted, all that was made for 12 gun carriages.................
Best regards, thank you for all your "likes", and comments

Back again for a bit more review
First of all, THANK YOU for your so many spended Likes
Next things to do were the gun carriages. The DANZIG had 12 pivot guns of three different weights on board, all in 20,4cm caliber. The weights were 95 - 60 - and 52 hundredweights.
First to build was the upper carriages, they are made from birch wood of 3mm thickness, milled as 4 pairs at once, and then glued together in a glueing form
After glueing this parts I drawed some photo etched parts and gave them to the etching fabric, all blue drawn parts are for that.
When the etched parts were ready, I had to bend some of them for mounting them to the carriages, most of the parts were for the largest upper carriages. They have lifters at the rear, and they even work in my model carriages.
Also the pivot carriages are "ready for use" on deck, when this is built, some brass parts are not etched, but handmade. All eyelets are made from 0,5mm brass sheet, or from 0,3mm brass wire. Every single part that is shown in the drawings is mounted to the carriages, so I can rig them in original way at the ship.
This was only shown in a very short form, requests and critics are always welcome!
Best regards

Hi Pat
Thanks again!
Was not too hard to make the carriage, the wheels were not easy!
Hi Gerald
If you watch the thread from post #178 on, you will see there is no plastic used, everything is made from brass. I used 0,5mm brass sheet, for all metal parts of both carriages. In 1:36 you will need 0,8 mm brass sheet.

Back to the 12pounder carriage, I made the small rear wheel. I used 6 mm brass tube for the "tyre", 4 pieces of 2mm brass tube for the rim, and 1 piece of 1mm brass tube for the hub. I had no 1,5mm tube, so i had to use the 2mm, and could set only 4 instead of 5 pieces for the rim, but it looks good, I`ll keep it.
All the little pieces in the soldering form
After soldering.....
Filed to correct width, and mounted to the carriage
Best regards, thank you all for watching, thanks for comments, hitting the button,
Have a nice day!
