    Lots of deck details added (you wouldn’t know it. I’ll probably dull down the deck yet, ladders and railings and masts etc etc etc to go.

    So days of work, doing the little bits for the deck, vents, winches, bits and Davits. Next in the cue is the guns and other deck fittings before the winches and then the railings. Finally I have a heap of extras to go on the deck plus figures.

    AK makes a salt product but you need to use it very sparingly as it’s bloody strong, thus I did a white diluted undercoat L. They have a tutorial on Utube

    My plan is to have one lowering a torpedo on one side forward and picking up cargo on the other side aft

    Back to the hull. Re masking the waterline in reverse, a light dusting of white with the airbrush. Next will be the AK salt on the water line

    So happy new year from Oz. I’m working over this period and go on leave after nightshift tonight, big things for the next year. I need to figure out how the cargo hoists work, maybe replace the masts.

    They certainly do! Shipping is a killer from the US to Oz, there are also some very nice Resicast kits which are bloody expensive too.

    Nice work! I’ve just ordered up some holt Tractors in 1/350 and some artillery pieces ! I have away my Yamato and the bloke who got it gave back the huge base so I can do up an artillery convoy.

    So the decks, there will be an absolute ton on extra detail, not just the fittings. Next is to glue down the preprepared cargo holds

    Boxing day here in Oz, merry Xmas to the rest of you. I’ve completed the decks, which all had to be painted first as the construction processes require it to be finished first so I can get the whole thing to sit flush. This includes starting the dazzle painting on the sides. . I want to put a matte coat on the wood next then start plugging it all in.
