    This is what I have used in the past- self-adhesive copper slug tape- (search on Google), making up a former for the nail indents.

    A small, rotary power, tool (like the Dremel) would be my first power tool.
    And there is no need to take my word for it - it was Harold Underhill's only power tool- not a Dremel, but I rest my case.

    Nope, not possible with the weight and trucks (wheels) do not swivel.
    The recoil forced the cannon far enough inboard, restrained by the ropes, to clean and reload.

    Take a look at this resource as a starting point- Vector Art 3D.
    You cannot create or edit the files they produce but you can scale them.
    If you can find designs in their gallery that suit your project, it is a cheap and hassle-free method of producing nice work.

    Those old catalogs are a godsend when you are looking for a shape or a part on old equipment.  A neighbor of ours likes to model old farm equipment and he as a bookcase loaded with old catalogs.

    Cut to size and make a press to simulate nailing.
    Search "slug tape copper repellent tape" on Amazon.
    Currently, a  20mm x 4m roll costs £2,45
