Thank you, Bob. Unfortunately a HL is down the list a ways if at all. Psst, don't tell anyone but after this project is done I've got one more sternwheeler to squeeze in before getting back to the Tennessee.

Eberhard, thank you for the comment. When working in larger scales I use the pads of my fingers, at 1:120 I work with my fingertips. With experience I've learned how much pressure I can apply when working with tiny objects. Material size and physical limitations are indeed humbling.

Thank you, Jacques. I get so absorbed in the work that I lose sight of how small this build is.

     Thank you, John.

Thank you, Glen. It's hard to believe (even for me) that If it could be folded flat it'd fit in your billfold.

Thank you, Paul. The color is a mix of lime green and royal blue.

Thank you, Eric. So much of this build is black that I looked forward to being able to add a wee bit of color.

Thank you, Roel. For believability at this scale painting tight lines is an absolute necessity and I'm getting a bit better with weathering though I still have a ton to learn. I couldn't do any of it without my 6X glasses.

Thank you, Ken. An accurate portrayal of the subject was mission critical from the start, I hope to be somewhat successful at the end.

Thank you again, John. Weathering is fun but I still get too heavy handed at times though that's pretty hard to do with this particular subject.

I am flattered by all the likes and these kind comments. I am an admirer of the works of each and everyone of you and of those who have hit the like button or posted a comment during this build. I stand on your shoulders! It's your work that drives me to try and keep up to the standard I so greatly admire.

Magnificent in its tiny-ness!! Oh my, i would have to put on some serious magnification glasses to see all of your details.  Really inspiring, Keith.

I got the Myers water pump made and installed. It's been a long time since I've made a piece of any complexity that hasn't been under a roof.

There are 7 pieces to the electric motor and 14 piece to the pump not counting the belt. The water pump pulley isn't a pulley per se but it's the only wheel I had that worked in scale. Those that followed my Tennessee build may recognize it as a sew on clothes snap.

     The electric motor is 0.10 inches W x 0.20 inches L. The pump is 0.275 inches W x 0,50 inches L.

This is just a fun photo putting this little guy's size in prospective.

Thank you to everyone for your kind support and for following along.

Once you get used to the small scale, it is not so different from working at a larger scale. The problem are only the materials limits: you can get thin enough wires, (metal/plastic) sheets, threads etc. or at those small sizes they become difficult or impossible to work ... well of course, age takes a toll on our eyesight and perhaps dexterity too 😐

Awesome  work my friend, your work is truly inspirational, when I see your work it drives me to do better. Lately,  many times I ask myself,  what would Keith  do. That's why I got another river boat, and I do hope you get a Harreit  lane, we can a group build lol. Just floored at the dollar picture, Awesome.

Progress on the boat covers... the No Sew worked a treat, and bonded the 'darn cat ears' very well to the cover...
I moved on to drill the grommet holes, and like David Antscherl said the holes drill cleanly in the painted silkspan. I used a tapered cocktail toothpick dipped in Tamiya XF-18 Semi-gloss Black to paint the grommets. Just dip the pointy end into the paint then into the grommet hole, it leaves a neat painted circle.
After that I prepared the motorboat by gluing a spar bow to stern to 'tent' the cover like the original, and also glued the gripes in place.
The picture shows the boat and cover to this point.

Next I centered the cover over the boat and used a water soaked paint brush to wet it, enough to start getting a tent shape and fold around the edges, and the 'darn cat ears' stayed on, Yay!
I left it at this point to dry, I will give it another wetting before lashing the cover to the boat. First I have to lash the triple blocks to the eyebolts in the boat, these will be the lower part of the falls.
Almost made a mistake when I forgot to make sure the 'darn cat ears' would not interfere with the gripes, but fortunately there were no conflicts!

So far so good, so I made a start on the dinghy. Since it is done the same as the motorboat I won't repeat the details in this log.

Next time you see the boats they should be in their chocks with everything lashed down!
