Well, today I was able to finish the chain plates on the Starboard side, did some corrections to the Foremast chains which makes me happier somewhat. On the real Morgan after restoration, there is only a double chain on the Foremast, with single chains on the Main and Mizzen masts, so that is the design I'm following. The plans only show a single chain all the way around.

Well, I fnally got some time in the shipyard. A little rusty for sure...probably need some "relative bearing" grease to get m old fingers started - as the Bo'suns used to ask for. Working on chains for the Foremast deadeyes. Not as neat as I would like, and not lined up the way they should, but it's a start. I might come back and redo them or not..probably later on in the build. So I'm going to be going all the way around the ship and get these done. Here's the start, I soldered some o f the components with the resistance solderer and Ca'd them to the channels and hull with brads:

Today was very tedious and time consuming. Using two very tiny 40 link/inch chain, I installed the Martingale Stays from the Jib Boom to the Dolphin Striker, then using Bullseyes and line, ran the Martingale Backstays back to the hull eyes to square up and tighten the dolphin Striker. The Bowsprit is starting to shape up. I used Alexey's Serving Machine to serve the Bulllseyes to the lines on the Backstays.

Today was a bit tedious again, making Futtoch Shrouds for the Foremast, and re-doing the Mast Top and painting the Foremast. As luck would have it, the bottom of the Foremast below the Brittania Spider band is Yellow Ochre, the above that is white, so I grab the Yellow Ochre bottle only to discover it's hard as a rock. So finishing and mounting these will have to wait until an order from Model Shipways gets here next week. Lots to build so I don't have to worry, only it's frustrating when you're making progress and don't have something.

Not a lot to report today just a little more tedious type of work....slowly trodding along and working on the Bowsprit. Got the Inner and Outer Jibboom Shrouds installed with Bullseyes mounted on the Catheads.

Thanks Augie, the bluff bow is tricky....sharp curve, so I got to try my first attempt at bending wood.. realize I don't have the right tools. I used a piece of wood and pins to form the first piece, and now I'm seeing if the second piece will match...lol. Much duplication for sure.

Well, today with all going on in Boston, I spent a lot of time watching the news....sad...isn't it? So, I worked inside and didn't create saw dust, and did some more rigging on the Connie...broke a few things..cussed like the sailor I am, and made repairs from big fingers and frigile plastic. I think I'll be glad to be working with wood. Posted a few pics on the Connie build log for anyone interested...so we have a red sky tonight...tomorrow should be nice...sailor delight...
