Sjors your build is turning out well.
Took me a while to catch up with all the side tracks. If your build log had a sound track it would probably be Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.

Sven - Great work! The port holes are perfect.
As far as the ships wheel you could try some watch gears. I picked up a bunch from a jewelry shop for just a few dollars. This link has a good example of one.

Good idea on the desk top Popeye. I did the same thing on my work computer. Stared at the Bounty rigging for a month between financial statements. Totally helped though. I'm sure you'll get the rigging down nicely.

Now the other rail is complete. It's been a productive last couple days. I still have some hull work to do namely the deck stanchions and cat heads. I think i'll start on the masts as well though.

Sjors, you miss the whole concept. The technical term is FISHING..........not CATCHING. I assure you that no fish were harmed during yesterday's expedition. Our little fishing team is very eco-friendly and would not even dream of disturbing the balance of nature.
Put another way ----- NO, we didn't catch a darned thing!!!!!!
Back to the Royal yards.

Well I was able to get one of the rails done. I was hoping to have both done but apparently one year olds don't need sleep. All well there's always another time for ships. Here's my progress.
Actually I think the rails really accent the windows.

This is weird. I actually understood that. Sounds like a good plan actually. I will keep it in mind next time I attempt to plank a hull. I look forward to seeing the progress. I'll keep the popcorn machine running while you put on the show.

Some how this comment gave me a strange image of Sjors dawning the clown suit popping out of a closet in the corner of the forum and shouting, "Supplies!!"

I believe that ship was called the Ug. Which was Cromagnon for "floaty log thingy with branch that catch wind." JK It amazes me as well the variety of ships that appear on this thread. Especially the ones that evade the google image search.
Also I've heard tale that the giant rubber duck thing, that has yet to be properly identified and or confirmed in this thread, is appearing in the USA sometime soon.

At least you gave it a try. Most of the guys in my club look at what I do and say. "Better you than me."
Well I got the cannons done and I still had bit of sanity left so I added some hatches and a capstan. Now that my sanity is totally shot I'll call it a day.
