  1. Lower gun deck painted in black to reduce visibility since there are only gun barrels. I plan to plank only middle part that can be seen through the upper deck. Last two bulkheads are finally glued so i can't work on it today anymore. Frame for the lower cabin is also glued and reinforced and I also managed to cut the 0.8 plywood for the floor. The original plywood (which wasn't included in the set, i think the one i got is for hms victory) stops at the cabin so i had to extend the deck. I contacted Jotika support and they told me that they cannot sent me missing part directly if i dont spend 150£.
  2. New bulkhead fits perfectly. Cabin wall curve is now correct on both sides and the outer proportions fit also
  3. Thank you @allanyed. Those plans are just what i needed. Looking at them i noticed that the last bulkhead on the model is no wide enough. I will have to make new one in order to have correct inner wall curve.
  4. As you can see this kit does not have interior for the cabines included so i will try to do it my self. I am trying to find the right blueprints of the ardent class 1764 for it and reference photos of simmilar ships. I guess the interior design is simmilar than the one on victory. I did found the blueprints of the quarterdeck but the upper gun deck is still the mystery to me. If ANYONE has any information, please feel free to jump in.
  5. Hello everyone. Yes, I am starting my second project. First one is in rigging stage and i love working with wood, so.... I bought this kit a while ago and i couldn't wait to unpack it and start modeling. My first ship of the line. I wanted to build this one 5 years ago but i knew i didn't have enough knowledge or practice so i had to start with something smaller like endeavour. The wait is over, lets get to the work.
  6. Since most of the wood work is done i decided to start with the 2nd project. Can you tell what is it?
  7. Question. How do i add signature with current build below my posts?
  8. Started rigging a bowsprit. So far it is going great. Also replaced metal lantern with the chuck's wooden assembly lantern.
  9. All guns are now finished. It was a joy to assemble them.
  10. Another update. I have been learning a lot about rigging and it is a slow and painful process. I have reworked the elm pumps, and the bases for swivel guns. Now it all looks more consistant.
  11. Hi all. I have a question regarding wood on this model, last two pictures. What wood was used to get that nice warm yellow orange color. I am soon starting HMS agamemnon build from caldercraft but would like to have yellow parts not painted. Fell free to give me advice on what combination of wood to use. I would like to get nice details and sharp edges on smaller parts so i guess hardwood is the right choice. But what wood to use for planking hull that maches hardwood in color. Also what are the alternatives to hardwood. Thank you in advance
  12. My first. Took me 4 hours to build it. It is aftermarket kit from syren.
  13. Did a little bit of painting and continuing with shrouds
  14. After few years of other hobbies and raising a child i lost my interest in modeling and now finally i am continuing my build. Here are few pictures of my progress. This is still my first ship so i am learning along the way.
  15. Since it is my first model it is hard to tell how good it is. I see that other builders say it is all right. Wooden parts are of good quality. Depending how high you aim other parts can be good enough for you. If you want to improve your build than you will need aftermarket parts or make them yourself. Me personaly purchased new guns and ropes from syren ship model co. and few other parts. I still dont have enough tools to build them myself.
  16. Hi guys, hi Johann. Can you please help me. I am trying to find how to do certain knots like this one. Where did you find how to tie them? Thanks in advance
  17. I used filler, and after painting it looks great. Details are still there and it looks compact in scale. Btw I started working on it this year after 2 years of pause and will post pictures soon
  18. @Johann First of all, fantastic model and a true inspiration for me. Second, i was wondering how do you weld metal parts and color them. Can you explain your process for newbies like me.
  19. Beautiful and inspiring build. It motivated me to think bigger take my time and make my endeavour build better.
  20. After very busy year I am finally on my vacation and my hobby can continue. I did couple of small parts for the main deck. Turn out quite nice. My skills are improving little by little. I am having a dilema. Should I leave them as they are, or paint em in red and black.
  21. Happy New year to all of you. I finally got some time to play with my ship so here it is. I am taking my time and trying to make every peace as best as I can.
  22. New update, fixed hull gap problem. I decided to go with all 5 windows even if it's not historically accurate. Occre kit is not accurate by default so I will go with my own vision. Last two pictures are blurry because there wasn't enough light when taking pictures with my phone.
