    what a pitty Igor,

can imagine what you felt...but the saying says  "no risk no fun"...

was that the end of your beautiful Flacon I lked so much,..... do you have another suitable one for the next Trial, and resin with less hardener?

The next step - the making of the waves.

And ... it's still happened ... It was a sad moment when I discovered a crack in one of the corners of the bottle. ((
Resin really strongly have reduced its volume. I think there are two reasons for this failure - I filled the heated resin and I added too much hardener. ((

    Stunning work Igor,

hope all goes well when the Magic Moment Comes (glueing down the hull layers in the flacon and hoisting the mast with the pre-rigged sails). Would love to look over your shoulder that Moment.....

A special case of the planking we'll find in the area of the wide groove of the openings (they will be later equipped with an elastic gasket). There I have a “flying“ plank without bearing - it's hanging in the air.

The fix of this problem shows two planks coupled on the underside (s. below).

Mirabell61 reacted to flyer in HMS Pickle by flyer - FINISHED - Caldercraft - Scale 1:64 - my interpretation
Initially I joined the hatch frame corners with 45° joints. I thought a decent carpenter would work like this. Then I found in the clever books that a completely and incidentally simpler solution was used which also took the strain on those corners better.
So much for avoiding the easy way.

    Whom the bell tolls...
As said before I constructed a belfry according to an illustration in 'The Global Schooner'. Sides and top were constructed with doubled and sanded 5x1mm walnut strips. The bell is from the shop and the small parts came from the kit.
Most of the furniture on the deck is only provisionally fixed. Before putting it permanently in place I will have to go over the rigging plans to find out which additional belaying points I will have to construct for the running rigging with sails set.

45° joint. Not so easy to make

    ... once more a little update ...

... after some planks, I have to cut through the cockpit frames. This way, I must later milling out only to a depth of 3 mm (dimenson of planks) for finishing the cockpit opening ...

... same process for the front opening ...

... and then the planks with day lights.

Thanks everyone who visited the shipyard, and thanks for all the likes.

Many thanks for such a great feedback! ...

    “... well done ...“ – thanks a lot! ...
    “... something to remember ...“ – that would be a pleasure ...
    “... clever ...“ – maybe a little bit ...
“... master mind ...“ – there are also other opinions – to this you have to interviewing my admiral ...

The next thing that I must prepare are the double-width planks with the deck day-lights. To this I used a milling guide to obtain easily a high repeat accuracy (s. below) ...
