  1. Thanks everyone for the feedback regarding painting. I still have enough time for a final decision. I soon interrupt work on Pandora and start finishing Royal Caroline. I make now only minor works from this reason - preparation of deck beams and deck planks.
  2. Inner planking is completed now including sweep ports and holes for fixed blocks. Now I am standing before deciding whether to paint inner planking red or left it in its natural state.
  3. Hi Nils and Dave, thanks for compliment . I started the inner planking - waterways, spirketting and quickwork are completed.
  4. Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. It gives me great encouragement for further work. I decided to make wales from separated parts. It took me about 40 hours to make and stick 4+4 wales nad 1+1 black strake .
  5. I started the hull planking - the lower counter. It is my first attempt to planking the hull in one layer.
  6. Hi Omega1234, thanks for nice comments. Making of the rudder, hardware - pintles, gudgeons etc. will be added later.
  7. I added the quarter deck transom, lower sill for lights (windows) and helm port.
  8. Framing the stern - the inner counter timbers and the side counter timbers.

  12. Thanks everyone for comments. Work on the RC will now be temporarily stopped. I started to build a new model - see my new log scratch build of Pandora. The work on the rigging will continue in the autumn and winter because these works I can make indoors.
  13. Hi Antony, thank you for your compliment . I continue with the production of external keel. It is made of individual parts which are glued together.
  14. The bulkheads and the inner the keel is made of plywood, the outer part of the keel will be made ​​of pear wood. Thanks to the large number of bulkheads (26 pcs) and small gaps between will be done only one planking.
  15. I decided to start work on another model (work on Royal Caroline have reached the stage where it can be easily done at home in the autumn and winter months). The choice fell on Pandora. It is my first real scratch build (POB) according to plans from the book Anatomy of the Ship. The first phase of construction was making a plan of the bulkheads and the keel using TurboCad.

  18. Thank you very much nmbrook. I used informations from book James Lees - The masting and rigging of English ships of war. In download section you can find the table which is very helpful. Back to my model. I finally finished lower parts of masts.
  19. So I went into the making ropes and after about a week of intensive work (exactly 27 hours of actual time) I have done. There will be a total of 9 different rope thicknesses in the model (7 are ropes + 2 basic yarns from which the ropes are made). I made about 220 ropes of different thicknesses.

  21. The main masts are almost completed, now is the right time for completion of tops - the blocks under tops.
