In the first picture the bow is pointing to the left, in the second to the right
But more seriously speaking, she is looking great.

AL appears to be afraid we can easily built this model. They arranged some obstacles to keep us busy. . .
Anyway will drill additional holes in the third deck (a pity the machine room stacks are already in place).

You are doing a great job. Creating the ornaments yourselves is a great added value. Will follow your built with interest.

The pennant mast, kitchen stacks and protectors in place. The flying colours in the kit are made from a rather stiff material. Am not sure whether I will use them. For the time being the pennant mast has to do it without pennant. Will decide lateron what to do with it.

Thanks a lot everyone
I am getting a little worried about how quickly this is going together
But then I look at all the stairs, decorations, bits and bobs still to do
Anyway today I was in hospital for a bit so not quite so much done
I completed the third deck building and furnishing. The bar was finished and the chairs and tables fitted, also the grills that surround the smoke stacks
I am really pleased with how this deck has come together. It is by far the simplest deck with just the bar cabin and the seating area.
The smoke stacks are fitted later as are the stairs, also there are all the decorations and railings etc to be fitted, so plenty to do yet
Here is how she looks at the moment with the removable doors in and out
So now on the list I have the engineering deck to finish and then start on the smoke stacks and various stairways

Progress to show, you know I must keep Sjors happy
Masts are wrapped, and installed. Even figured out how to do the couple blocks on the foremast.
Finished getting the pin racks back on the ship, complete with pins to support them
Now it is time to do the stays tonight....pretty nervous about this stage as I really don't have a clue what I am doing on this part of the build

john46 reacted to jarero in Robert E Lee by jarero - Scientific Models - Scale 1:139
It is about time to start gluing some parts to the deck and making Bob look like a 3D model.
These are formers that are glued to the deck to help guide the shape of the aft walls.
And here is a drawer full of some parts that will be installed soon:

Well Bob needs some wood to burn so I had to stock up!
They included some kind of rough round wood/fiber that almost seems like a grass similar to bamboo? Not sure what it is really.
I cut it into approximately 1/4 pieces but not too exact as to attempt to add some realism.
Then I glued a piece of tape up side down on a piece of scrap wood and started my wood pile.
After I got the base layer down I added wood glue that dries clear in the areas that I wanted to add more layers of logs.
The kit called for two stacks of lumber, one on each side of the engine room.
And the reaction from the audience when I finished......
Can't you see the excitement!
