.
thanks Anja. yup i took a break on Saturday and Sunday was too busy all day.
thanks Mick
thanks Randy . yeah i know it will come alright but i want to work on the lights and get that finished so its frustrating me.
tonight i ll attempt to put the stairs back in and finish the railings and tidy them up wiht some paint where necessary
oh also forgot to mention that i lost one of the curved railing tops . lucily i had teh original broken waqve catcher which was just wide enough to get the correct curve

it hasn't been a good weekend and I feel like I have gone backwards
first after realising I still had 8 shutters while only 4 where needed I discovered I forgot to put the 4 shutters at the back 2 windows
while determining on how I was going to install them without damaging the railings I noticed that the stairs had split open
installing the shutters was easy but as you some of the triangles came off (grrrrrr)
when fitting the back small smoke stacks the railing popped off as it was in the path of the stack
I had to file the inner part of the railing to fit round the stack. here they are dry fitted as I will wait till the smokestack will be glued in
after 3 attempts at fitting in the stairs and breaking it each time, I have no choice and will have to remove the back railing to install it
I did manage to finish off most of the railings
so no work has been done on the lights this weekend

if I ever order from them I d make a trip to them to have a look at their operation
its only about 40 mins drive from here

nope David

I would expect they would investigate worse case scenarios so that they can prepare for that. I had a look at the incident of the SS Kielce and was surprised about damage to windows and such as I would expect the shockwave of the explosion to mostly disperse through the water
-
yup I hear what you are saying. I see they would charge me $10 for anything under $100 . sending some chainplates in a normal envelop would only cost $0.60.
-
its a typical case of its too big a problem to deal with so I ll just leave it to the next guy to take care off. if they had dealt with it straight after the war they could have removed the ammunition more easily. now I think a controlled explosion would be the best option as all precautions to minimize damage could be taken. leaving it like it is could end up in not only lots of damage but loss of life
-
which shops did you look at it in oz Randy ?
I wonder why shipping costs would be high as it wouldn't weight that much and you can send them in a normal envelop

ofcourse Andy you coudl accidently on purpose push it
