In the meantime, i have looked at where and how wales planks keel etc.. come.
Planks (oak) in the lower part of the hull were 10 cm thick. Respect to the builders 500 years ago for getting this done

The position of the wales and decks on section 1 3 5 6 8 and 10

The stern has also been studied.  Although not proven but also not disapproved. two stern chasers will be provided

to be continued, thanks for following

    Fillerblocks

    All filler blocks are glued

Sand evenly with the angle grinder 😇

    After a few minutes

    Dust, dust, dust.
    Never do this indoors 😷😉

The final sanding was done by hand.
The base for the hull is ready. With all the extra plywood and filler blocks, this is a solid base that will not warp later.

What is already noticeable is the pointed shape of the bow. I did not expect this at all from a carrack and certainly not from one of this size

    Alexandru,

Your ship is sooo beautiful. Everytime I visit your new postings, I tell myself that I can't possibly be once again in awe of your work. But yes every visit has new  magic for the eyes and the senses.

Tom is right this work NEEDS to be seen by many - It deserves to be. And NOT against a wall. A "walk around" is a must. Brilliant indeed.

In fact, in my humble opinion, it should be on display aboard the HMS Victory, to give the millions who visit her an incredible miniature view of the actual build plank by plank

Your quality of work could not possibly improve. Astonishing. Always amazing to look at your updates. Your historical knowledge of this ship runs in parallel with your build.

    Hi Mates,

    LEDs update
Lots of hours installing, so far, 29 LEDs some with flickering as well as some static (all warm white)

Eighteen others have been added to needed locations (balcony walkways, and for lanterns) but all need to be secured and positioned into their proper places. It’s also important to aim the LEDs for best visual effect.

    PS: Evan Designs ROCKS!!

    Still to do….
•install upper rear quarters ceiling into place (that’s next)
•attach its wiring looms for the seven lights,
•clean up the wiring jungle to make room for both AAA battery packs
•connect remote sensors to all lights and battery packs,
•attach two battery packs, to their permanent locations.
•make “candle looking” cylinders for the five stern lanterns,
•seal any light leaks to the outside,
    •re-attach poop deck,
•cut two very small openings in rear facing stern upper panel for the remote sensors,
•make a magnetic connector to that rear panel as well (for easy access to batteries)

Thanks for dropping by, likes and comments all much appreciated.

Patrick - adding your new  log as well. in the mid-90s I visited the Mary Rose (well after seeing that other one - right next door) haha — Very interesting. This was before they of course totally rebuilt the Mary Rose museum, which apparently today is astonishing. Looking forward to your new build, which are always a delight to follow.

    Cheers, my friend.
