  1. lol - i never took it as being sharp i have decided ti start the build on the superstructure, around the smoke stack, lots to do, without the PE kit, and i am enjoying it, today i bought green stuff for the joints, now i need to find the best way of holding PE to the plastic, going to experiment with C/A tonight, i keep reading about Gator grip and various others
  2. Eric look at page two of my log, im at work now so i don't have a lot of photo here, but i think my bulkhead was either inline with the edge of the gun port or slighty further aft, of the whole build, this part is the most difficult, which for me led into the 2nd most difficult was the stern counter providng the top piece is in the right position you could always take some of the thickness of the offending b/head, so it cannot be seen
  3. 4. the problem is that Trumpeter Bismark has its problems, wrt to the portholes, to clear the manufacture mouldings the portholes on the angles areas of the hull and superstructure do not point exactly in the right direction, they tend to point 90 dec to the fwd aft line, rather than the direction in which they are positioned, this is made worse by the thickness of the plastic it's self, as Channell puts it, some are like wabbit burrows. i am not at present going down the drastic route of cutting them all out as i don't know any one who would notice, the build will never been seen in a show or away from my living room, and i don't believe you could see in a photograph, i also don't have the PE kit at present, may be another two weeks before i can get it, so i want to avoid building to much, only to enhance it later next is i dont know how to spray paint, even though i have a compressor airbrush i may have left the woodies for a while, but a whole new set of skills to learn

  16. the lighting from the build will be reduced as time goes on, all the gun ports are going to be busy, with lumps of cannon and riggingand the linings, the hull will be thicker with planking and the gun port lids depending on the angle displayed will reduce the effect even more

  20. Good evening everyone it looks like i am going to put the Victory on hold for a while, im not bored with her or any thing like that, but i fancy a change for a while, and it is not a scratch build either, i don't think my skills are good enough just yet, and i certainly dont seam to get enough time to concentrate on learning all the new skills needed. i have made the decision to go completely the other way, and build the Trumpeter 1/200 Bismark, and hope to have it in the workshop in the next week or so, Please do not banish me from MSW, lol if you do - i will have no one to talk to other than the wife, i know there is one other at the same scale and two larger, and alll look great builds, i would like to share this with you, any one interested?
