Does anyone know if there has ever been a model kit of the Steamboat Sultana. It is touted as being the largest maritime disaster in US history when it exploded killing around 1800. This is more than the Titanic

Greg,

A quick Google doesn't show a kit.. but I did find some links

There's plans listed here:   http://steamboats.com/museum/lossingmodels.html

You will probably have to do a scratch build....

Greg,

I Googled "steamboat Sultana" (without the quotes and then added "model".  I also did one with "plans" instead of "model".  Lots of news items but little of help to us modelers.  Maybe drilling down deeper might yield something?

Greg,

   found this site her  http://www.taubmansonline.com/

They have the plans for a Sultana Mississippi River Paddle Boat that caught fire in 1865 killing 1547 people

Hull length 34"

1/96 scale  5-sheets    9-detail sheets for $60.00

Hope this helps

I did order the Belle of Louisvilee plans from them and had no problems, prompt delivery

I am not associated with the company in any way
