OK, well here's one that definitely qualifies as a "first to the buzzer" ....I need to get some ships lined up in advance to not hold the game up  :)

Realisation dawned on me after I'd posted this.  I'm just looking for the name of the ship as it appears in the picture - one could apply tortuous logic to make this much more difficult than it really is....so don't

Thanks to David pointers at country and type of ship, I think I found it.

Is it  HSWMS Altair?

Cheers

Slog

Slog, congratulations!  I'll give it to you although the ship in the photo is not in fact the HSwMS Altair, but seems silly to go through the rest (Nigel/Eamonn - you can probably figure out which of the class this particular photo is of now :D ).  There are 5 ships of her class in operation, all training vessels, and all indistinguishable without pennant number.  Altair was the first, and the name of her class.  Over to you.

Hi Jason.. there seems to be a 'hole' in my Internet Search Engine where I can find little about the Swedish Navy ^_^ (might explain my total inability to find the boat! :(  :( ) With your new info I did manage to find Altair and a list of others in the class which included an Argo !!

Brilliant 'Name the Ship question mate.. Just wait till it's my turn again...

Thanks Jason,

I feel guilty as my last three correct answers were obtained thanks to Jan and David providing clues to point me in the right direction.  Apologies gentlemen.

I am going to stick with pre-dreadnoughts but I am guessing my next picture is probably one of the easiest in the game so far as it is so distintive but just had to post it.  This has to be one of the most incredible looking warships ever! It looks awesome; definitely would be on my bucket list of must builds if it was available. (and 4 others but not the same class  ;) )

Hi Eamonn,

you are correct, it is indeed the Carnot

Looks like someone stuck guns onto a block of flats !!

where every room has an ocean view!

Just wait till it's my turn again...

You didn't have to wait long LOL

Thanks Slog, I found this a short time ago and stored it specifically... ^_^ an interesting looking boat !

I'll be away later for most of the afternoon, so please be patient in awaiting a reply (if it takes that long that is.. I've probably gone and picked one of the most well known ships in existence where everyone on MSW, except me, has a photo of her on their wall..  :P )

Stay Well Folks

I'd love to say "Correct Eamonn, over to you!"  :P.....but no.  By the way, that one took a fair bit of digging on my part, maybe I went the long way round.

Next up.  Image of ship itself is untouched and unobscured -  other than the name...don't want to make it too easy.  This old lady has an interesting tale to tell.
