First test coat of paint a little more filler and sanding required , although conscious it's a fishing boat and needs to be rustic.

Beautiful finish. I love the fact that you can see some wood through the paint. It makes the model so much more realistic.

Latest progress on the Havmegan . Cabin almost finished but not yet glued in place , need to sort out the door handles and building up courage and researching how to fit the name decal . Any tips gratefully received.

Just a little more progress , cabin glued in place and a little deck furniture added . Failed to get the name decal to detach from the backing paper 

so will need to make a name plate of my own.

Tackled some fiddly pin head door handles and started on the even more fiddly fish boxes .

Undecided if the fish boxes are worth the effort ?

Cabin close up to show the handle reveals some paint touch ups required at final touches stage.

Had a go at the sails , the Billings boats Havmagen apart from some paint touch ups and a final photo shoot is now finished !

I just found your build log of this model and you're doing a fantastic job. She looks great!

 

I love these working vessels and this one is a beauty. I think Billings Boats has some very interesting models but the instructions look very brief so I've been hesitant to try one.

The Billings boats Havmagen is finished ! learned a great deal building this and very pleased how it turned out as only my first proper build . A little break now over the festive season and then if Santa is kind to me ? On to the next project the Billings St Roch.
