Really tempted to get that kit. It would fit well next to my CAF Bellona.... Arghh... not enough time !!!

Yves

I’d be curious to see the size comparison between the two. Bellona has to be a slight bit larger. Theres always time for another model!

Your model of HMS Portland is looking totally sweet, Joe!! And congrats on the launching of your web site, it looks great as well. I am enjoying this project as you build her.

Thank you Brain. And thanks for following along!

If I get to the point of taking on another multi-year project this would be it.  It’s really shaping up to be a beauty.

I like your website and enjoyed your blog article. Nice to see there is a new source for Winchelsea. Hope you’re able to add Cheerful as well. I do have a temptation to build her again, this time in all boxwood. Though it seems we lost our US based source for wood packages.

I’ll have one ready for you when you’re ready to take the plunge!

Im working on setting up some more Winnie files now, I have to make slight changes from Chuck’s files to my format but it’s no biggie.

I may do Cheerful, it’s up to Chuck. Honestly I’ve always wanted to build cheerful so I just may do that after Portland and while I’m designing the next one.

Im very seriously considering taking up wood production in the near future, currently I just don’t have the room or capacity for it. But when I do….

I hope that you do this, JJ, now with  Joe having retired. Great to see you helping carry the baton, I was looking into the possibility of a hobby store myself and discussed a little with Mr. Passaro.

Even though I am currently unable to work on Brig Eagle, a long story, another project I have my eye on is Brig Syren. I've read Mr. Passaro's blog and downloaded the instruction manual. I would be interested in a hybrid model of Syren similar to what you are doing with Portland if such a design gets created.

Hi Glenn,

I have the pleasure of having the Portland in storage under the work bench. After following the build logs and looking through the chapter1&2 materials and instructions I think you would really like building her! I know I will. :)
