Great subject.  I spent a very enjoyable day at the Vancouver Maritime Museum walking around the St Roch.  I did not know that Billings had a kit of this subject.  May look into it as a future subject.  Thanks for the build log.  Will follow.

Current Build:  HMS Dreadnought - PLASTIC - Waterline

Completed Builds:  USS Cairo by BlueJacket;  Nave Egizia by Amati;  Harriet Lane by Model Shipways

Sadly it looks like you've planked the wrong side of one of those superstructure sides, and you now have two very neat starboard sides 😟 Even more distressing as you've done such a lovely job of it. I hope the solution proves simple.

Spot on , now corrected I just planked the other side of the Port side . Slightly thicker but I don't think it will matter ?

Latest painting progress on the St Roch , masking tape was only a partial success. I put the last coat of black on too heavy and caused it to bleed under the tape . But after lots of refinement with a fine brush and a reasonably steady hand with still more to go! I'm starting to be pleased with how it looks . Although I feel it would probably be far quicker to paint the original ship!.

Looking very smart.

One tip I've found helpful in the past is to mask up the lines and then paint on some clear matt varnish. If this bleeds it doesn't matter. You can then paint the black over it, and it's less.likely to bleed as the gaps are already filled by the varnish.

I've used this trick a few times and not had any issue. With that said, your tidying up efforts look very neat.
