Newbie - Lady Nelson

Recommended Posts

I am totally new to this type of modelling, plank on frame. In the past i made ships in bottles, then it was getting the sea to look good that was the hardest thing.

Ive started with Lady nelson, actually not started yet. I'm banned from the house so still getting a corner of the garage sorted and watching videos, so many videos 'tips n tricks, but mostly planking. I like Chuck and Gary Brinker in particular.

One question that comes to mind when watching these videos concerns marking the bulkheads. If the plank positions / sizes have been made onto slips of paper, why then do modellers mark the actual plank by first marking an offcut of wood? why not use your marked out paper?

Anyway, garage nearly finished and so starting soon. I will be keeping a log of the build, so fingers crossed
