Rangeley Guide Boat - 11" LOA

The Rangeley boat derives its name from the Rangeley Lakes region in western Maine where it originated in the late 1800's and was used extensively in the early 1900's.  Primarily built as a guide boat for fishing, but it was also used as a gunning boat for waterfowl.  The hull is lapstrake and made from 1/64th plywood.  It is built in 1:18 scale and is 11 inches in length.  A build log can be found here.

Thanks for looking. Gary

I love that it's displayed on a rock. Brings me back to portaging days in Algonquin Provincial Park.

Beautifully done!

This just might be the most beautiful canoe model I've ever seen. Incredible details and authenticity and beautifully displayed as well! Congratulations!
