Hello All, Thanks for the comments and Likes, as always very much appreciated.

After taking the Advice from David  & Glen, (thanks again)

As you can see the pencil line I carefully cut and sanded this off, it fits great now, I still have other side so to.

I did make a cannon,( not fully glued as i there are a few things i want to do, but just to prove its now at the right hight. (There is not decking under the cannon, I had removed it,so it will be a few mm higher.

Will work on the rest for the next week or so

    Greeting All
Well at last I have made the barge. It's not brilliant but will do me. The colours are incorrect but ok. I could not see any gold on jotikas, but it may have been the photos. I have posted a few but the boat is way out of position, and as you can see it does not look right at all, and needs to be lifted at least another inch or so. I will take it off and do some adjustment and fit them all at the end stage. Thanks for viewing and your comments. Here's the photos. DAVID

Good evening, Rich.  I envy you living in Portsmouth.  I'd be visiting Victory every day or so.  Many thanks for your compliment and I know I'm going to get withdrawal symptoms after a few dys not working on Victory.  We'll be in Europe for about 4 weeks or so but we're missing the UK this year.  I hope to see Victory at Portsmouth in 2015.  Thanks again for your good wishes and have a happy....
    Jerry

Hello Everyone.  The trials and tribulations of the Jerry dry dock continue....Today, after much deliberation and consultaion, I decided to rig the Main Yard bunt lines and leech lines.  There is a very confusing situation here as the manual dictates that the buntlines are not belayed in the proximity of the Main Mast.  In other words, while the lift lines come down to the deck to belaying points adjacent to the Main mast, the bunt lines pass under the Main Top and then double back and run forward to be belayed to pins at the foot of the Foremast.  This didn't seem correct but after some conversation and studying it has proven to be correct..  During this operation I had the unfortunate occurrence of a 3mm block come loose from under the Main top.  This is one that is a double and has both buntlines pass through it.  So I struggled for quite sometime to reattach it, all the time trying not to have the buntline threads fall out of it.  It was a happy moment when it was back in place and I could continue on with my work.  So the lift, bunt and leech lines are now rigged for the Main Yard.

The tails of all the lines are now beginning to accumulate all over the deck so I think that before going much further I will have to begin the coiling operation.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend..   Best,

    Jerry

The second planking is done.........under the lower wale

I'm using push pins to hold the planks in the way.
I have make first the second planking and then right away I place the lower wale.
Now I can push the pins into the second planking and I don't have to use filler because the holes are covered.
And to now for sure where the wales are I paint them the first time with a primer.
I can now go further with the planky the plank and don't have to worry if I damaged the wale and paint it again and again.

Rich I had a look at your log. your doing great, If your actually considering LEDs I´m afraid you are a bit far gone so I would advice against it.
It takes a bit of adjustments to accomodate the wiring and if that meens you have to rip things like the galleries up. Don´t go there, and save the idea for your next project. This is my first time using LED although I did som experiments on a Billing Vasa that rests in my shop. It takes a bit of planning ahead but it´s not that hard if one has some soldering skills.

Off to the other side of the galleries

    Regards
    Erik

A lot of dryfitting, small adjustments more dryfitting some paint adding some more LED to get a more even illumination of the stern fascia. Oh nad a little more dryfitting of cource and finally I have one side of the galleries almost finished.

Started the fitting the copper tiles today, 152 fitted in first session. I'm using Evostick instant which is a very good glue for this application, as advised by Shipyard Sid. It is very easy to roll off any excess glue once the tiles are fitted.

When working along a line I'm spreading the glue for 5 copper tiles, generally taking about 2 minutes to spread and fit 5 tiles.

I don't think this task is going as bad as I feared, yes it will take plenty of time to complete, but I'm finding it strangely therapeutic.

Sorry about the poor quality of the photos.

    Jigsawpussle of the day

I used parts of the assembly to ensure that the stern fascia was pinned down centered and at the correct hight.

The rest of the pictures is dryfitting no glue so far. I looks ok and the window fascias seems to fit good enough although some tapering will be nessecary.

    Of to the other side

    Erik

My Bank Holiday weekend work in the ship Yard while the wife and Daughter was at a Batton Twirling Comp,

I Have planked below the Lower Gun ports with the second planking layer. Filed out the gun ports. Just working on the other side, waiting for the glue and wood to dry then i can file out the gun ports.

Over the last few weeks I have been making a few of the small boats, Barge + Cutter due to my building works.

These have been a little tough, due to the size, the planking was painful, more so the amount of time my fingers need to be cut off,, oops.
