Greetings all

well at last we are back on line , but alas we have lost our build logs, which is really a shame for some of the logs which have gone on for a long time, some for years. i am sure lots of them will bounce back, lets hope so. so i am going to hopefully upload a lot of pictures showing the development of my build of the jotika victory over the last fifteen month or so. so here we go ( he says hopefully) best wishes to you all and enjoy your builds  DAVID NO ........ sorry no dialogue with photos

Hi David,

Welcome back.  Very glad to see you've been able to get your log re-opened and pics loaded.  I've re-started my log but no pics right now.  Will add some soon though.  First planking complete, gun ports lined, middle gun deck planked.  Just getting started on the quarter galleries now...giving me the devil of a time getting everything aligned.  I need a third hand!

Hello chaps

Well there's a few more. I thought things were going to well. The iPad idea does not work very well, for some reason a percentage of the photos upload sideways or upside down , so that's all for now, but don't worry I will get there,I think). DAVID

greetings

Ok here we go again. what I intend to do is make this batch bring me up to date, and then start my build log proper. These photos will take us from quarter deck views up to the stern facia fitting, showing work on the poop deck and the poop deck stairs and last six guns. And then onto the quarter galleries and finally the stern facia. I would like to thank you one and all for viewing and all your comments, and wish you all good luck with your builds. Here we go (he says hopefully) Thanks a lot DAVID

Greetings all

Well what have I done over the last few days ? Well not a lot really. I assembled and painted the catheads and put them away to fit them later. I then completed the stern and facia area ,or so I thought, until I received a mail from ocean clipper (derek s ) asking me what size the capping was on the stern facia edges as he could not find it. I told him there wasn't any. Alas another mail arrived telling me there was, and also the size, and he had found it in page 38 . Well it can wait as I have started the rudder and copper plated it. Once the rudder is fitted I think I will have a go at the gunport lids. But firstly check out what needs doing before I start, such as the rigols and also tidying the paintwork. OK so I will show you a few photos of the stern and two of the catheads. Thanks a lot for viewing and comments which are all appreciated. OK here a few of the latest photos. Thanks a lot DAVID

Greetings all

Well I have made a bit of progress over the past few days. I completed the fitting of the rudder which was OK but not as good as it should have been. I then decided to make a start on the gunport lids. I took over three hours to do the first two lids, and they have turned out not to bad, But it will take quite a while to complete them all. I can see were I can speed up the build, but my biggest problem is all down to me. the 1mm set backs on the ports are all over the place. I will need to make adjustments to the top edge of the ports as I do them, and to be honest if they all turn out similar to the first two I will be more than happy. Anyway thank you all for you comments, and thanks for viewing.. Here we go a few photos.. Thanks a lot DAVID

Hi David

The rudder looks pretty good to me as do the gunport lids.  I'm not suprised the lids took that long there seems to be a lot of fiddly work involved.  I think I will have the same problem with my inconsistent recesses.

Anyway, keep up the good work !!

All the best

Yon

Hello David going to look nice when all those gun port lids are fitted, that rudder looks ok to me despite what you said David. How are you insuring all those gun port lids are going to be of equal height ? I actually had a PC free day today was nice.
