  1. I did the same thing and bent them with my fingers. I doesn't need to be much. I built this kit close to 15 years ago now. It's a great kit to build, but I would make a few suggestions, GET RID OF THAT CHEEZY wood that is painted great to simulate copper plating and use real copper foil tape. Secondly, get rid of those metal casted windows and make some from wood, they will look much better in the end. Lastly, contact the Constitution museum and ask for some wood from the real Constitution that they sell in their gift shop from past refits and have them mail it to you, then use it to make like Mast heads, crosstrees, anchor davits and such. If you decide later to sell it, this makes buyers dig deeper in their pockets when you tell them this.

  2. I love Constructo kits especially for kit bashing. They have great materials, but the instructions SUCK. I always go strictly by the plans and throw the instructions away, they will get you in trouble. Also sometimes their accuracy can be a little off so if your a purist or perfectionist Constructo kits may not be  for that type of a person. But I rather like them and was glad to see them come out with a Victory kit.

  3. I've been looking at some of the newer versions like Constructo, Mamoli and some of the others. I've been out of ship modeling for about 7-8 years and getting the itch to do one last model before I get too old to see the riggin lines. I'm looking for a grand project.

I have built around 20 models in the past 15 or so years and have sold most all of them. But this next project will more than likely be donated to a library or something similar if nothing more than a remebrance of me.

So any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. I have built Two Constitutions the first was the Mamoli kit and the other was the Model Shipways kit

I have built a number of the Constructo kits including: Mayflower, Bounty, Pandora, San Mateo & King of the Mississippi paddle wheeler and the Cutty Sark.

I also built the America which was a Leclur kit and the Bluenose which was another Model Shipways kit.

I have built the Mamoli L'Orenoque

    These are a few others.

  5. The Constructo HMS Bounty was my first kit build. I left mine natural wood color with just a varnish finish on it. At times, I do wish that I had painted her the colors of the movie version of the Bounty. When people who visited and saw the model, they would always ask why it didn't look like the movie version with colors. I just preferred the natural wood look.
