Jack12477 reacted to Egilman in B-25J Mitchell by Tom E - Revell - 1:48 Scale - PLASTIC
My only suggestion is find something with a few rivets on it, then test it out and see what happens....
You will know when it is dry when it looks painted on... (best leave it overnight although it usually doesn't take that long)

Ironically my youngest daughter used to live in Keene! She was Guidance Dept Chair at Keene State College. When she first moved to NH, they lived on Gilmore Pond in Jaffrey before moving into Keene. Now she's in Maryland. Used to drive up to Keene a lot, only about a 3 hr drive for us.

Jack12477 reacted to Egilman in F-104C Starfighter "Blue Jay Four" by Egilman - Minicraft/Hasegawa - 1/32nd Scale - PLASTIC
Ok, I've started hacking plastic.....
Those two little nubbins got to go, they hold up the rudder pedals, not going to work with the PE.....
Cutting the right side, I have to cut it along the floor cause I need to keep that slot on the back, it glues to the front wheel well to set it's location in the fuselage....
Cutting the left side.....
Completely separated now... I should be able to get some measurements on how much I need to add to the sides...
I know it's difficult to see but it measures a hair more than 1/8th of an inch. I think what I"m going to do is replace the floor with new rather than try and retain the old, this will give me a clean tub to work with and the seat was designed for a tub type cockpit.... the parts wall thickness is 46 thousandths so I will use 40 to make the sides, it will also allow me to create a crossbar support for the rudder pedals PE, then they will dangle like they are supposed to....

Good on the decal solutions. I see they added satin to the mix, that's new. And I second OC's advice on the Sol. Go easy and don't touch after you apply it..

That's awesome CDW!
Should be a fine week. Maybe some weather mid week, but that's a ways off.
Little bit of Florida tonight. Hot and steamy. Well hot and steamy for this pale New Englander!
Where are you going to visit?
I hear Hampton Beach area is somewhat open. Limited capacity I imagine.
But I'm pretty sure the restaurants should be open with outdoor dining.
June is a fine month for fried clams, lobster and some chowdah outside by the beach.
Up north, things seem to be a bit more relaxed.

Jack,
I can attest to scalehobbyist.com
Never had one problem.
Great selection. I window shop on the website whenever I can at work!
I almost exclusively use them, almost. I do use Micromark, Syren, etc....
There in my state, so my money stays in state.
Amazon has enough money, they don't need mine.

Very interesting project and informative job on the log. Maybe I misinterpreted an item in your opening. You refer to not being able to fly this plane on one
engine because of the counter rotating props. If they shut down the damaged engine which they probably would, the plane should be able to fly unless single
engine flight was not possible due to insufficient power. Many planes of that era had little, if any, excess power.
Thanks for the info.

Excellent online hobby shop that's near you in New Hampshire. They carry a full line of Mr Color paints and everything else.

Might try Sprue Brothers.https://store.spruebrothers.com/category_s/2737.htm They carry the line, but I'm not sure about them carrying these paint sets.
Here's the Gunze lines with the page covering the sets. http://www.mr-hobby.com/en/itemList.php?cId=7
The applicable sets are about mid page.
Here's their English instructions for the Dark Yellow set Craig is using.: http://www.mr-hobby.com/en/itemDetail.php?iId=1917
here's te English instructions for the OD set: http://www.mr-hobby.com/en/itemDetail.php?iId=1916
They cleverly used the same instructions for both.

This is such a cool kit ! Don't think I would have the patience to build it but it is so unique and well done.

Craig, where do you get the Mr Colot/Mr Hobby paints ? The 3 online hobby stores I use only carry the primer and maybe the leveler but no paints (Free Time, HobbyLinc, Megahobby).

Jack12477 got a reaction from popeye the sailor in M1A1 75mm Pack Howitzer & Prime Mover by Egilman - FINISHED - Vision/Tamiya - 1/35th Scale - PLASTIC
Tell me ! I got my 1st 35mm camera in 1954, Kodak 35mm, upgraded to Pentax H3 SLR in 1960, then Pentax SP500, then Pentax K1000 (2 of them). Now I have a Pentax iST 35mm and Pentax K50 DSLR. All the cameras work fine still except the K50 which has an electronics problem. My Canons are just pocket cameras for grab and go, or models photos since the K50 is down. And, yes, I have a 35mm darkroom in basement, mostly for B&W.
The Canon DSLRs are real good, got my oldest granddaughter one of those packages, she loves it. Does some good work with it.

Yep, definitely time to move up.
My advice: look for one that has in addition to macro, spot and center weighted metering and spot and center weighted focusing. Yo can find these features on point and shoot cameras as well as the DSLRs. I have a Canon pocket which has these features, very easy to use and very handy and not restricted to Macro focus either.
