Question about the leeboards.
In the plan it shows that the leeboard is attached to this rectangle holder with a slit through it but it does not go further than that. In all my other models of Dutch boats it goes through the railing as well and is fastened with metal.
OR
Is part of the railing removed and the leaboard holder in place of that area?
With all the pictures of talks I have the leeboards go through the rectangle piece and the railing and fastened with a wire loop so it can move.

Hello friends,
new photos from the construction progress of my CHEBECE.
Partition walls of the storage rooms and remaining deck beams are installed.

Amazing model building, sir! You have great skills with your ships. Looking at the pictures you have recently posted, I am guessing those holes drilled through the hull on either side of the mast will be for pumps? Keep up this great blog!

Hi Adrian
Congraulations on an absolutely stunning model!
Hopefully, you’ll be able to promise me one thing, though...please post a video of your ship underway.
Cheers
Patrick

Great job building your ship model, Adrian! She looks fantastic in every way. Do we get to see any photos of her in the water??

Your metal workmanship is out of this world. I would ask for tutoring about doing metal work for my model, but distance between us would make this extremely difficult. Keep up this amazing museum quality ship, she looks great!

Hi folks
Thanks for all of your comments and Likes!
You know, I have always wanted to try to emulate one of those “3D exploded version diagrams’ of Shadow’s decks: you know, the type of diagrams you see so often in technical drawings, etc.
Well...here’s my attempt to progressively show how all of Shadow’s decks fit together, (in 3D fashion). I’m not sure how successful I’ve been, but, here goes:
Have a great weekend!
Cheers.

Thanks every one. Work continues. So far my idea is working The masts are completely removable and the rigging goes right a long with them.

Bravo, Patrick! Very fine fleet you have, and the bow crane for the tender turned out just right. Amazing work and details, sir.

Hi Folks
Many thanks for all of your Likes and comments. Greatly appreciated.
Tonight, I did a bit more work on Shadow's tender which is berthed in the foc'sle. Principally, I've added the crane that is used to lift the tender out of her berth in the bows into the water.
Also, I kinda got a bit nostalgic and was wondering what Shadow would look like with two of her siblings in the fleet, namely Majellan and Mystic, (both of which have Build Logs in this Forum). So, I took them out for a brief photo-shoot. Mmmmmm, not bad, I reckon.
I hope you enjoy these photos.
Cheers

Your tapering of the deadwood turned out very nice. I remember the "fun" I had trying to make such a tapering job on my model of Yacht Mary. Keep up the great blog photos and postings.

Good evening for everyone, work goes on with an important piece on the ship, namely the magnetic compass. The most important part of sailing today is less used thanks to electronic maps and GPS.
At construction we used copper only this time.
A beautiful evening I still want you.

Good to everyone, work continues with the paint shop and I trained the main part, followed by paint repairs and the start of the assembly.
A beautiful night still I want you.

Hey Patrick! Your model of Shadow is looking amazing, my friend! I must have missed this particular posting as lately I have missed a lot on here myself, but I am curious as to what you used to make the water in the sun-deck spa?

bdgiantman2 got a reaction from Piet in Statenjacht Utrecht by Angarfather - 1:36
You are doing an amazing job on this model of the Utrecht. In my research of these beautiful ships, I have never personally seen before those slides for the lee boards. Nice job making those slides. Do you think that the Yacht Mary would have had such slides for the lee boards even though Mary was almost a century before Utrecht? Have heard that the Dutch liked to stay consistent with how ships were built and designed such as the statenjachts. Looking forward to hearing from you and viewing the next update.
