  1. So now I’ve polished the sides and given it a clear coat, I want to paint up some green slime climbing up the sides, once done I can start the top of the water
  2. So I haven’t abandoned her, I took it to a mates to get a base done up. I think I’ll paint the wood to look like old concrete
  3. Red, after a lot of sanding. The top will be white. I’m awaiting some replacement wheels and some PE from Poland.
  4. Now the seats and the hard to align shell
  5. Sigh, Roden kits are a challenge and this one is the second part of our club 1930’s themed group build. luckily it’s not 1/35 but smaller but not easier!
  6. So the plans aren’t the best as they are photographs which are very grainy, and they also just miss out on bits! I have parts that I can’t figure out but they double up on the fragile stuff which is good for mistakes. A good razor saw and files are a must
  7. Quick build, I got this half price recently, Resicast beauty! I also got a 6 inch gun for a later planned diorama, but this one will go with the Roden tractor
  8. Now I’m done, I wouldn’t done the crane attachment but it’s very inaccurate and I can’t be bothered to fix it
  9. Now to get some paint on but for some reason I can’t post images
  10. Ok that makes sense, it was the sandwich filling ( acrylic paste) that must have been the problem as the top and bottom are hard
  11. That’s the thing, it won’t cure! Apparently after 48 hours it just worn so I have a sticky mess. The clear stuff is rock hard, if the bottom is sloppy it can just sit in the base
  12. A mate said it looks like Mater from Cars
  13. So back to lernin mode; the layer between is still wet and will not set but it is really hot, so I think the AK radioactive resin reacted with the top and bottom layer, so I’ve separated them now so hopefully that’s going to work as the clear resin top layer is hard
  14. So it’s leeching resin at the join of the pours. Few days in the sun to bake it
  15. So 10 days, a bout of Covid and I’ve ripped off the Perspex frame. Still wet and runny in places like the layer joins. I now need to let the sides go off and I will sand them smooth not a total fail but a big learning curve IMG_0729.mov
