  1. Quick build, I got this half price recently, Resicast beauty! I also got a 6 inch gun for a later planned diorama, but this one will go with the Roden tractor
  2. Now I’m done, I wouldn’t done the crane attachment but it’s very inaccurate and I can’t be bothered to fix it
  3. Now to get some paint on but for some reason I can’t post images
  4. Ok that makes sense, it was the sandwich filling ( acrylic paste) that must have been the problem as the top and bottom are hard
  5. That’s the thing, it won’t cure! Apparently after 48 hours it just worn so I have a sticky mess. The clear stuff is rock hard, if the bottom is sloppy it can just sit in the base
  6. A mate said it looks like Mater from Cars
  7. So back to lernin mode; the layer between is still wet and will not set but it is really hot, so I think the AK radioactive resin reacted with the top and bottom layer, so I’ve separated them now so hopefully that’s going to work as the clear resin top layer is hard
  8. So it’s leeching resin at the join of the pours. Few days in the sun to bake it
  9. So 10 days, a bout of Covid and I’ve ripped off the Perspex frame. Still wet and runny in places like the layer joins. I now need to let the sides go off and I will sand them smooth not a total fail but a big learning curve IMG_0729.mov
  10. So. Ow this is done, the traversing arm arrived
  11. And because he offered free shipping I might have got a truck to pull it
  12. So today the missing piece arrived from Milan, notice the excellent packaging in its own coffin!
  13. I’m so glad it didn’t sink! I actually think it’s grown on me, I will have to amend all the figures to NOT have a list. Interesting that the back base resin, the ink is starting to leach upwards )it looks really cool)
  14. So overnight we developed a massive list to port side! It’s stuck solid. So, no change in plan, it will just be a more dramatic rescue scene. I could t figure out why until I looked inside the hull and the seam has leaked letting in resin which as set hard as ballast. annoying but it will work
  15. So next is the radioactive bit. I used AK radioactive water but in the black surface it does not show at all. So a few drops of a vivid green acrylic in the mix works well. Remember there will be a coat on top on this and it will all be under water
  16. So to answer your question, this stuff! I don’t prime the resin which causes it to split but that was perfect for what comes next
