A productive weekend so far, blocks attached to both the fore and main yard, and footropes attached and dampened with diluted white glue to get them to fall properly. One they have set to the stirrups i will lash them. Once dry I can re paint.

Ok, stirrup time. I used a needle to thread some 1.5mm line around a needle then glued it to form the base of the stirrup, then trimmed it when dry. i then set 15mm of length with CA to set it hard. The using some plastic strip to keep the distances correct at 15mm, slung them underneath the yard and lashed them. i can't actually attach the footropes until I lash the blocks on. A bit of black paint to hide the sins will follow.

The only other reference I've found via my books and Ray Parkin's book is they drop strait into the first companionway forward. As such, pointless PM'ing the photo. The AL instructions just have you drill a couple of holes in the deck. You've done such a fantastic job on yours it will take a rebuild of the cabinet work. Maybe Marquardt made it up?

The fore and main yards. Several days to strop all the blocks required. Now I have to get the Stirrups and footropes right before lashing them. I think I intend to finish all the yards (11 of them) first so I can work from Bow to stern, low to high. The only blocks missing here are the lower tackle block.

Two weeks work, and pretty much the last of the woodwork, Spars and yards done.Lots and lots of blocks and ropes to go. What's the best way to make stirrups?

I kinda went strait off the AOTS if you have a look at my log. I've also got Parkinson's reference if you want me to PM a photo? It's different.

Looks very very neat! Are you going to drill holes for the anchor cable to go into the hold?

Ty Ian- the track is peco code 100 track. The tinlets are stored upside down as it stops a skin forming on the paint.

Ok, repairs continue after the cat tipping incident. The back end of the bus! I have used Chuck's fantastic lantern kit. Next back to the front of the bus to fix up the anchors.

OK, pointy end of the ship done finally. I've pretty much replicated the AOTS for all the stays and running rigging.

Last post of the year I promise! Bit of serendipity today as I actually read the plans and looked at the replica and the Topgallant shrouds have no ratlines! I'm finished with them! Shrouds and backstays in place. Lots of work on the bowsprit before I can add the last stay. next year it is.

Mizzen topmast stays. This was the most difficult as the thimble that goes on the end of the stay had to be put on whilst it was rigged. fat fingers and backstays do not mix. Now to have some fun and rig the blocks under and over the shrouds.

Breast backstays. The backstay needs to be separated at the mast, thus the little jig so it allows me to ensure the blocks are even on each side, and allows them to be served on. Tye tackle next, then backstays and stays.

Slowly fitting the topmasts. I just have to glue in the mast tops and align it properly before setting it for good.

I had to include the tackle first as the shrouds will run over the top of them so they fall in a single line thus it has to be spliced. The double blocks are Chucks from Syren, drilled out a bit and filed along the sheeve lines to give a little more definition.

shrouds next, then numerous backstays, then stays over the top, Then I'll have to worm the jeers up between them so they hang under it all.

I thought I had just about completed the lower masts. I completed the Futtock Shrouds and hooks with ratlines, made up my Euphroes and crows feet using some 2mm blocks, (the crowsfeet will need some wax as they're fuzzy0. I discovered that i forgot a Mizzen Stay which is painful as it will be fiddly serving it.

After I fix this, what do you normally do next? Which mast in what order?

Standing rigging continued. Shrouds finished off sans ratlines. next is to add the shroud cleats.
