    Hi Steve,
    Nice, clean, crisp build!!
Awesome with a capital "A" (Brings back memories.)

Really good "Upgrade" for an otherwise "Down Graded" A/L kit.
I have enjoyed being on the Journey, thank you.

Looking forward to see what you do with a Cabinet for this.

I guess it's time to get back to the Bounty?

    Cheers....HOF.

trawl doors fitted ive opted to go with the doors with no brass surround and made the doors slightly bigger so they are the same size if the brass was fitted

    Agree 100 % Rick. :-)

I was woried about doing a single layer plank for my first build. I think it turned out not bad. The precision lazer parts and the quality of the wood has a lot to do with it.

I will redo the oar tholes "not a fan of exposed plywood"

3 bits and 2 oars a fine sanding and some finish and she will be done!

    Officially finished my first build.
Finished her with a Minwax wipe on poly, gave it a nice finish I was looking for.

She is now proudly displayed on the mantel.
Time to clean up the bench and get ready for my next build....

I've build three ships 1/78 1/35 1/50 and from what I can tell from a kit perspective there all pretty Simaler small medium and large and pretty much same with rigging
Perhaps try purchasing a small amount of a kit size to copy

I figured out the reverse order of picture but missed the two-sidedness of the tape!  Thanks for the explanation.
Now I see the trawl doors on the box photo on page 1.

finish applied to fishboxes I have build the trawl doors however they are having finish applied at present so I have completed and rigged winch gallery
as the build begins to come to a close there will be no more parts to make I have included a pic of left over parts

Hello all welcome back for an update.
I have completed planking and must say after going at it with a proper plan and layout have really enjoyed this sometimes frustrating part of the build
I have sanded the hull lightly filled the pin holes I used to hold the planks and re sanded.
as you can see from the photos there is no need for expensive keel clamps  and water line type drawing devices
I have simply held the ship plum by clamping a block of wood to the keel and I screwed a pencil to the top of a piece of wood tested height on wall then cut wood block to apropiate  height.
after fitting the whales I begun paint starting with the stain because if I go over the lines I can paint over the stain but cant stain over the paint

For months before I started the build I have struggled with how the bulwarks are fitting in a billings kit they seem to show me in the drawing laying a plank flat and building on top of this however it then does not marry up with the scale drawing.
also I think they want me to just use the bare plywood .
So I have taken matters into my own hands cut the tabs off I so tried to protect from damage from start of build .
I then planked the bulwarks inside and out and will add thin strips on outside and inside of bulwark so it looks like it is on top of these and marrys up with scale drawing.
also stern cabin mouldings are going straight in the bin forcing myself to come up with something more accurate.not sure how that will go watch this space.
finally ive begun work on framing the inside of the bulwarks .
    Thanks for viewing

    Steve.

O.k. not much of a Sunday for Modelling, Not particularly in the right frame of mind.
I have however taken a couple of Photos of Sanson as of today.
Shouldn't be too much of an issue to Remove the Bulwark/Superstructure Sides, finish the Deck a little better and redo the Wheel House, and re-paint stuff of course.

As I may have mentioned, I think I'll do some LED Lighting and see if I can get my hands on some Fibre Optics to do the Navigation and Mast Lights.
(Anyway, that's the plan going forward. )

I have all the necessary Bits and Pieces to complete.
