  1. The second planking is complete. Dear friends, I would like to ask that if it is a good idea to add the treenails or false nails on the hull of this model. What do you recommend? Thanks in advance. Scale of the model is 1:50
  2. The second planking continues towards the bulwarks. Starboard side is complete.
  3. The second layer of planking of the hull continues. The port side is complete and the other side is close to the finish.
  4. Hello friends. Due to the problem with my laptop I have not been able to post the updates on my SM for a while. I installed all the decks and planked them, I attached side sheets and did the bulwarks inner plankings, completed hull first planking with 1,5x5 mm basswood strips instead of 2x5 mm balsa strips given with the kit. I completed stern planking. I started the second planking of the hull with 1x4 mm walnut strips given with the kit. Here are the updates.
  5. I decided to make treenails with the toothpicks. I drill 0,8 mm of holes on the planks and insert the toothpicks with a little PVA. After glue dries I snap the toothspicks off and sand the suface for finishing. By the way, I glued the poop deck as well.
  6. All of the decks given in the kit have simulated planking on them but I will cover them with walnut strips to get a more realistic look.
  7. After HMS Pickle I started Santa Maria kit of Mantua which I bought three years ago. I will modify the kit a little during the construction. Everybody knows everything about Santa Maria. So, no need to tell about her history. I did the framing and glued the main deck in place.
  8. Thanks Daliab. I use those stirrers only in deck planking. If it is coated with the tung or teak oil after installing it looks very nice.
  9. Thank you so much Edward.
  10. Thank you Spy. I used Caldercraft's kit plan (in Jotika's online instruction manual) to cut the false keel and bulkheads. The rest is from the pictures and videos of Pickle's replica in the UK and the other sources on the internet.
  11. Thank you. No, they are not related with modelling. They were presented to me by the company I worked for while I was working (anyversary etc.) and when I got retired.
  12. Thank you. For the false keel and bulkheads I used Caldercraft's kit plan. The rest is from the pictures and videos of Pickle's replica in the UK and the other sources on the internet.
  13. Thank you so much Edward.
  14. She will be named soon. I made the anchor in the port side hauled up on the deck and attached the buoy. I completed side rails of the poop deck.
  15. Pickle gets closer to the finish. I made a buoy and completed rigging of the anchor in the starboard side.
  16. Flying jib traveller and the boom sheet are complete.
