Thank you for coming to this log guys! Ok first question of the log, look at the photo of resin pieces, then look at the bag with the life rings. You will see a tiny white square rod. Anyone have any ideas as to what that is? Its not in Pontos intructions. Oh man this is a little scary not having a flory build to emulate. RGL- I took half a breath, I should be ok lol

Hi everyone, this will be a record of my attempt to complete the huge challenge that is Trumpeters Mighty MO. the addition of both pontos kits only compounds this challenge. I have almost everything. I’m just waiting on the advanced add on kit to arrive. I recently completed Trumpeters Bismarck. The MO is 4 inches longer! I won’t bore anyone with photos of every sprue, but heres the color scheme and paint chart. Now I wish I could use tamiya paints as I like them and I am comfy airbrushing them, but their color selection for the MO is horrible. so I got these 2 sets from AK interactive. I hope they airbrush ok. any thoughts? I’m also considering Model Air and AK real colors of ww2. If I can find the colors needed. I got this Eduard mini kit of hull plates. The first of the Pontos kits dry transfers theres 50 of these to build! I went with the blue deck because it looks better to me. thats all for now. The 2nd Pontos kit should be here anyday now.

It’s been very fun guys! I almost have everything I need to start the missouri so hopefully in a week I will be starting that. To close out this build I I wanted a better camera than my iPhone. unfortunately I had no luck so here are photos of my finished Bismarck with my camera phone, crappy lighting and terrible background. Also I don’t know how to put the word “finished” in the title of this build log...😕 Haha there is a piece of rigging near the funnel I didn't snip off yet

I thought about doing that multiple times throughout this build But i never did. I just think it doesn’t look like real glass. So I just left it alone.

thanks guy. That glue applicator is truley one of the best tools I have haha. So after I install these she is done! The fat lady is about to sing. Well tommorrow morning.

Thanks Cog. Turns out my shading stuff is barely visible on the plane anyway. It’s only good for grey ships. I put some decals on. and placed it on the ship. I didnt glue it yet. My question is should I paint the 2 pontoons grey like the struts?

Does anyone know if i should shade first or put decals on first. I’m a little confused.

I started today by masking off Mr. arado. then i airbrushed model air “black green” I then pulled off the masking tape and hoped for the best. well thats acceptable. Time to brush the engine black. next I placed the canopy in postion and added tiny drops of glue all the wAy around it. i then brushed light sea grey onto the struts. last I added the prop. i just have the decals to do now I think.

The german gun Is like $160 here. The pontos alone for the missouri will be atleast $350. If i decide on the missouri atleast I already have the kit, I just need pontos.

So guys. This is off topic. I don’t know if guys are going to like this but I’ve been thinking alot about my next build. Lately I’ve been leaning towards somthing thats not the missouri... or even a ship. Hobbyboss 1/72 of the biggest gun ever made. The german “dora” gun. I think it so cool. Heres a photo. I cant do 2 builds at once. Im actually rite on the fence between Missouri and this.... I dont know what to do....ugh i still have an arado and an acrylic case to complete so I have a little time.

I bought this for the missouri. I hope AK Interactive airbrushes ok as I have zero experience with AK paint.

I didnt have Vallejo thinner or distilled water. But i did have Vallejo airbrush flow improver. I put 5 drops of that to 20 of the model air.

The paint dried on me on the needle tip a few times but other than that i like it alot. I wish tamiyas color selection wasn’t so awful for me.

I finished the rigging. I didnt want to go to crazy so I kept the rigging lite. then i started painting the arado. The first coat is down. I used model air paints. Definitely different than tamiya.

Oooh i havn’t come across your build yet. I love discovering new builds! I look forward to following. It looks awesome already! And it’s your first build! I’m just about done with my first. That deck is beautiful!

Legion, ezline is incredible stuff, it comes in fine, heavy, black, white, Also you can have the look of tension without any real tension on the model. Its just great!

Today the rear flag went in. the the front pole Then started the rigging with fine EZline. Its really hard to see though.
