  1. I have seen some pictures with what looks like a stick to wedge them open, on the next building I will have them as shutters on either side. While not going for strict historical accuracy enjoying putting in different styles and building approaches.
  2. Starting to put the shutters in. Not based on any research but guessing the cost of windows would have only seen the bottom ones glazed and the upper levels being open to the elements.
  3. Thanks Ekis, enjoyed this more than the cloisters and hoping I get a good result once the doors, roof and shutters are on, may try to get the courage up to do more scratch builds like yours
  4. Ha ha, my son is learning, I used to play but like most things as you get older life gets in the way
  5. Loving the cobblestone effect you and Ekis are inspiring me back to mind, sure my son won’t mind his home schooling slipping
  6. Experimenting with the half timber and brick buildings, this is based on an Aedes Ars kit and loving the quality of the bricks.
  7. Looking good and inspired me to do some more. This really belongs in a museum.
  8. Thanks for this was thinking of taking a break but some of these moulds are getting me thinking of potential detailing I could add.
  9. I think I need some vegetable sides and paint masks on the townspeople
  10. This is amazing, really amazing. May be motivating me to do a bit more on my on.
  11. The size of this is staggering, how did you get planning permission from the Admiral?
  12. In between work calls and home schooling small project for the Tavern area.
  13. May do a small town house and see how I go, enjoying this but balancing work, family and now the fun of home schooling with the latest lockdown. I am sure though your and Kevin’s posts will inspire me on.
  14. Enjoying watching your build, looks like it is already having lots of interesting details. Are you going to populate it?
  15. Finally finished St Jude’s with cloisters and priests’ accommodation. Rethought the way I was doing the ridges and think this looks better as although not going for any hyper realism the first ones were a bit chunky. Taken far longer than I thought it would and need to decide if I move on to another building, landscape it or finish something else in my stash. Thoroughly enjoyed this type of model and would recommend people having a crack.
  16. My Grandfather was at Maleme as a company runner and nearly had a heartattack when running messages and a paratrooper fell on him through a tree. For some reason he said both of them found it funny and let each other go.
  17. My advice is don’t be afraid to make mistakes, buildings of all periods have wonky bits and found that the bits I really kicked myself about no one else seems to notice. Best thing is to make a start and accept you will learn as you go.
  18. No sorry tiles, currently will be about 60 figures and various animals. Tempted by some more 3D printed people but need to focus on getting the rest of the buildings done
  19. It gives me an excuse not to do the tiles as figure I have another 120 to do
  20. Just had my late Christmas present arrive, a number of 3D printed peasants / guards., weapon set, oxen and a mounted king figure. Fascinated with 3 d printing and tempted to buy one. Given these come on a clear resin primed them to show the details and will start painting them
  21. Thanks Louie, taking a bit longer than I first thought but hoping to have this finished by end of Jan
